Re: New Goalie Confirmed

Humour, now there’s a thing of beauty. But a lesson to us all, controlled media will only tell you what they need you to believe, gaining your heart and mind before their controllers make a deadly strike on yet another oil state and its innocent people. Still, what do we care so long as our little w...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

Although it seems a pitiful situation, Dai and his sister have not been shy in bank rolling the club since May 2018, rightly or wrongly. And according to Jose they continue to be motivated to plough more money in to help improve our position, although current FFP rules prevent them from doing so. Th...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

I'm not sure how else to explain this: Spreading transfer fees via amortisation reduces the volatility of the cost of transfer fees in a single season and reflects a club’s long-term spending on players https://i1.wp.com/priceoffootball.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/word-image-131.png?resize=768%2C...

Re: RUMOUR - Gomes wanted

Edit: add in how well he worked all of the loanees and U23’s into a failing team and like I say, he’s the complete package. That was good fortune. Let's see how he does at the beginning of next season. Particularly if the next crop of loanees (i.e. Steve Clarke era) don't work out so well. I know i...

Re: RUMOUR - Gomes wanted

It’s not just his points per game that will have attracted interest. Other clubs will be attracted to his playing style and the energy he brings to a club and their players. Personally, I think he has enough about him to go on a be PL manager, or at the very least a top 6 Champ manager. Would be gut...

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader

Simon's Church and would they really want to spend £8m+ on someone for their u23s?

Brighton spent £7m in Jan on Argentinos Juniors midfielder Alexis Mac Allister (20y/o) ... and loaned him straight back to Argentinos Juniors, so it's not unheard of for Prem clubs/money to do so.

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader

hasn’t that already been said somewhere? Has it? maybe.. just read your post sorry.. what I should have said then is, agreed no worries...just gets a bit grating after 20 years of it (especially when the big-hitters here do the same and get the feedback....sulking not a lot  ) Read the previo...

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader

If true, the best scenario would be for Wolves pay decent money and then loan him back so he can develop some more with us. Maybe this is part of finding the solutions to meet FFP that José keeps referring to. Decent upfront money, with an additional fee based on his performance with us next season...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Interesting debate and I’m sure we’ll debate the outcome of both players once we know for sure. A lot of posters referring to the “money they’re on”. Do we know how much that is/would be, has it been published anywhere, or do we just feel that their wage, no matter how much no longer warrants their ...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

I think it’s down to both players to decide as both are still under contract. Gmac’s is 32 in a few days and Gunter turns 30 this July. Do they look for one last move this summer, or do they stay and contribute both on and off the pitch and then leave on a free in 12 months. Or does the club recogni...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Quote Players too good /would be silly to move on Chris Gunter - experienced and dependable back up - should not sell Garath McCleary - experienced and dependable back up - should not sell These would be at the top of my sell list, not because I don't like them but they are on very good wages and n...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Can’t see the club writing £1m off for a striker who scored 28 in 51 in league 2, and 7 in 15 in the Scottish prem and letting him go for free. I know both leagues are shite, but find me a goal scorer at his leve in this transfer window with that goal scoring record and I’ll humbly agree with you. ...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Hoping that the main starters + bench will be kept for next season excluding the 4 loans, here’s my take on where I think we are and the players we might be looking to work with, move on and the recruitment needed. OOC Players Anssi Jaakkola - released John O'Shea - released Danzell Gravenberch - r...

Re: RIP - Gordon Neate

He was very much part of the matchday experience especially at Elm Park where everything and everyone seemed so much closer. I don’t mind admitting this pitcure of him saying goodbye actually brought a tear to my eye https://www.readingfc.co.uk/contentassets/8cc89679f7d4462585ae8929e58d1d55/200709-4...
