Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

The extended highlights are pretty grim. Shout out to Knibbs poleaxing Wareham when trying to tap it in after Campbell's shot in the second half. (Tbf I'm not sure he could have done much to get out the way, but it summed the night up). Shrewsbury's goal is really poor. Not clear if Bindon gets clip...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stevenage (a)

Eh? Stevenage have a massive injury crisis in defence, in particular at centre back. We have one good striker, Sam Smith. He's injured, but apparently will only miss this league game (plus some cup games). All things considered, we might have got quite lucky that it's this particular league game Sm...

Re: Your worst 11 since supporting RFC?

On a slight tangent, I remember standing there at the end of this game just struck by how much I truly hated watching the Stam-into-Clement period: https://royals.org/matdoc/210418.html It actually looks decent on paper but this and the six months either side of it was excruciating. 21 April 2018 SH...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stevenage (a)

Going into their FA Cup game last weekend Stevenage had 4 fit defenders, and one of them got injured in the warm-up. I think it's CB where they are worst hit. If Smith is only out for this one league game, it may be quite a good one for it to have happened.

Re: Rival Watch

Birmingham have £1m bid accepted for perennial scorer against Reading, Lyndon Dykes. About to turn 29, and hasn't scored more than 8 league goals in a season since 2020/21. And he is, by all accounts, being forced out by QPR as they want the money, so probably isn't thrilled about the move down a d...

Re: Ex Players

Meite hooked at 0-1 for Cardiff today. 2 goals and 1 assist in 41 games for them... In fact it's 6 goals in three-and-a-bit years for him now (admittedly with the injuries).

Rino an unused sub in that one too, would expect he'll be in League One before the end of the transfer window.

Yiadom out for another 6-8 weeks according to Selles. Didn't seem concerned about Knibbs, Abrefa or Dorsett.

Re: Rival Watch

Birmingham's (rumoured) spend is now at £10 million this summer. And that includes a low-ish fee for Alfie May who will almost certainly have needed a massive wage to join.

I suppose it'll probably work, but it has got more than a bit of 'financial oblivion in two years' about it.

Re: The Retained List

I do wonder if Mola chose to leave to get more minutes next season. Selles seemed to like him and his versatility makes him a very useful sub so I'd be surprised if we didn't want to keep him as back-up, albeit no more than that. Carson realistically needs longer to develop at this level than we can...

Re: Record Watch 23/24

Reading's record will always be the greatest points achievement, as they did it without a PL level squad and gazillions in parachute payments. In fairness Ipswich have run it close this season...I think that would have compared to us. If not exceeded it, as they basically have the same squad as las...

I think I missed Neil Harris taking over at Cambridge in the first place, but he's left to go back to Millwall.

We also bought out Cork's sell on clause for Doyle when they were desperate for the cash. I doubt it was an act of kindness on our part.

Re: MATCHWATCH : MK Dons (h)

Form wise Graham Alexander's team have won their last two league games (both at home against Bradford and Swindon) but those two games are their only league wins in the last eleven games played, only 2 points in their last 5 away league trips have been earned. They sacked him last month and the new...

Re: Rival Watch

I know everyone is worried about us and our current form but QPR are in far worse form than us and frankly, I can't see them getting much change out of their remaining fixtures. This. It's who they're losing to as well. The last four defeats are to Wigan, Blackpool, Rotherham & Birmingham. You ...
