Re: CONFIMRED - Michael Morrison

Solid signing. Experienced player in an area where we need that badly. 2 year contract - he's 31, so that makes sense. I believe Birmingham were only offering him a 1 year extension - so hopefully it's the two years we're giving him, rather than some massive wages, that swayed him towards us.

Re: The Local Journo Thread

I do feel that is partly down to the fact he's a big Pompey fan and doesn't really show much passion for Reading. Then again, 'ol Charlie managed that fine and he's an Arsenal fan. I'm not sure where I'm going with this. Charlie got to know the players, and other people at the club - so he wanted t...

Re: Ex Players

Muskrat Career statistics of one goal every three games, not too shabby.

I think that ankle injury killed his career - he'd a good scoring record before that, but it's more like 1 goal in 10 now.

“As a reminder, all Season Ticket Holders aged 18 & Over as well as any fan who has moved to a different seat for the 2019-20 season will receive a new Season Ticket card this season; all supporters in Club 1871 will also receive a new card.” So if you are a ST holder aged under 18 do you still...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

well yes but getting a better rate =/= paying a premium which was the point previously being made Anyway, I've done some research through some unashamedly ITK pals and as I now understand it there's no such late/early premium anyway. These contracts work as so: [*]Kit manufacturer (KM) provides £X ...

Re: Ex Players

Deniss Rakels scored his own penalty, but couldn't prevent his team Riga from being knocked out of the Champions League by Dundalk. The score after 2 legs and extra time was 0-0.

He's scored 7 goals since he left us 2 years ago.

It’s sponsorship and it’s 20ft tall. I’m sure Macron would have wanted it up ASAP. Back to my point - both the kit - and the stadium updates - have been left till late. It was signed in April. You sound like carillion or kier making late payment excuses You sound like the worst kind of Dublin taxi-...

Hound has anyone seen Huddersfield's new kit for the season? Wow.

Whatever ours is, it can't be worse than that. Can only think its a joke by Paddy Power...

Surely it's got to be Paddy Power doing a Paddy Power? It's an absolute monstrosity.

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

tbh it sounds like complete horseshit to me. I'm no expert, obvs, but don't these deals usually involve the manufacturer paying the club a lump sum then some agreement being struck on profit share for shirts sold directly by the club :?: Why on earth would a club pay to get their stock earlier :?: ...

Re: CONFIMRED - Bod to Millwall.

A previous posters have said. Criminally underused by Stam. In 2017, he started 1st game of season (for a playoff team) and got injured. Was essentially hampered by injury Aug thru Nov, but still played in 27 of 37 total games under Stam. In actuality, he was unavailable for 7 of those 37 directly ...

72 bus This is Reading, not many do

If even 1% of those who regularly attend Reading's matches answer the survey, he'll have more than enough - from just this one team. Why do some people feel obliged to post a negative comment about absolutely everything?

Have filled in the survey.

Re: CONFIMRED - Liam Kelly

I’m confident Gomes and the recruitment team will bring a substantially better player than East or Meyler to fill the gap Thing is with him being over 24 and in the last year of his contract, he wasn’t really any more tied to us than if we got a Baker/Ejaria type in for the next season I still thin...

Re: RUMOUR - Gary Hooper

At some point we’re going to need some experience though otherwise I expect Moore will get fed up & want out. Not saying Hooper is the answer but I’d be personally worried going into the season with the lack of experience the squad has. Yiadom is pretty experienced too to be fair. He's played 3...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Not sure - prob depends on the terms of each deal Obvs I’ve massively over simplified but gist is hopefully sound in that we should now be able to bring people in within reason Fees are spread over the length of the contract. So, Bodvarsson cost about £1m 2 years ago with a 3 year contract. So that...

Massive drop in wages. Guessing McShane, Ilori, Bacuna, Kelly, O Shea, Gunter, Bod, McCleary, Baldock, Aluko, Mannone, Meyler and Bod will be on near 1m p/a . The likes of Joey, Anssi, and McNulty not miles below. There’s potentially 15m there Presumably players moving up from the academy will have...

If Kelly goes as well and if we do get some money for Stacey, that’s prob 4m or so in fees and wages saved. Hopefully creates enough to sort some loans ASAP Anyone know how the accounting for fees in works? Is there a spreading over seasons thing, or a loss of asset value in losing a player? Dont f...

Two of the Spain games are double headers, I`m struggling to think how we can field two competitive sides in the same side. Obviously depends on who is around and fit but... Jonathan Low Thanks. Very disappointed about this. So we will just have Walker then for now.No need to let Southwood go. He should be challenging as understudy to whoever the number one is. Driscoll and Boyce-Clarke therefore currently vying for the no2 spot  Wonder if part of persuading Boy...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Just a note on "spreading costs over 2-3 years. That happens anyway. FFP relates to your accounting losses, not cashflow. When you buy a player, you spread the cost over the length of the contract, not when you buy him. We have no reported cashflow problem, just an allowed accounting loss prob...
