Re: Bristol City (A)

Also, the club could say that members will get £10 off their fifth home game ticket purchased so effectively the membership costs you nothing if you come to at least five home games in a season. The other advantage to this is that away fans sitting in the home end effectively have to pay £10 extra ...

NewCorkSeth Not sure where to put this as it isnt solely about ex-players but the athletic has a great piece on grief in football including interviews with Meyler and Adam.

And, not an ex player at all, but their interview with Stephen Ireland is amazing.

Re: Reading FC Womens World

On another thread it was suggested that one was started on the Royal Women's Team To be fair, they should have their own sub-forum (I don't think it would be helpful for them to have their own site and hobnobs are a gender neutral biscuit anyway) Is it though? It's quite a masculine biscuit. Speckl...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

I love being positioned next to the away fans.....much more fun, its what adds to the day......rubbing their noses in it when your winning, and at the same time taking it when things arnt going so well.......excellent atmosphere as well. Yeah there's some twats that over react but the stewards seem...

Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

I thought I heard or read somewhere it was the new training ground the Chinese had bought. At least, if that is true, it would be better than the stadium being sold. If things go wrong in the future, we could (at the expense of Grade 1), do without a training ground more than we could do without a ...

Maneki Neko .

You don't go to Madejski for the football do you, you go for the food

I go for both now

This - now arranging to meet up and eat lunch at the Mad Stad before a game rather than eating in town and then heading out.

Re: Phil Parkinson is waiting.

How many times were we relegated under English managers? The last time we were promoted in 2011-2012 we had a manager born of Irish parents and only became strong enough to win the title/gain promotion thanks to the investment of cash by the Russian majority share owner. The 106 squad did not have ...

Re: Nova leaves on permanent deal

Sad to see him go, but Puscas, Joao and Meite with Loader up and coming? Which of those would you drop for him? In an ideal world with money growing on trees keep everyone, but overall I'd rather the above minus Nova. Loader. Maybe Joao depending on which version turns up. You'd get the same compla...

Ear muffs on? Or, not actually there at all? Yep, Charlton fans were loud, but definitely could hear C1871, No...

Hound What’s this Nevers lad like? Seems to be getting some decent game time and making an impact

He took the goal well and has a trick or two- he’s 19

Trialists any use? Low has them both rated as 6 - lower than any of the reading players.

One could be Olise’s brother? Saw rumours that we were/are interested.

Definitely not Olise’s brother- 1 could be the same trialist who played at West Ham who i named on the night.

OK, thanks

Re: Crowd for Charlton

The Arsenal game wasn’t meh either. They had close to their best line up that day and we pushed them all the way. The Huddersfield game was appalling. Not sure how to explain. Sometimes you can be on top yet know you won't score (for example) It just felt like we'd be whopped, and the feds mistake ...
