Re: CONFIMRED - The 2nd final countdown

I know very little about the whole thing, but I've seen a few tweets where people suggest he's the nephew or relative of one of the Thai owners. There's other things which do seem to back it up. ... Something very big is happening clearly. I think others are right, the Amazons, big drive for fans, ...

Re: Purple Turtle sponsorship bands

That's a great booking for the final day. I like the fact that it's there to showcase smaller bands as well, but for a big game like this one it seems fitting. Could get them to play Black Magic live as the teams walk out, from the stage, and it'll probably sound better than the stadium speakers. I...

Man United's 20 league titles were under just 3 managers. Liverpool's 20 was under 10 different managers.

Re: why don't more people from Ethic minorities support Reading?

And not enough women either. Why isn’t the club’s diversity officer doing something about it? Disagree. Think Reading has a pretty strong female support. Get all ages both home and away. Do agree on the OP. Considering the make up of our team and Academy, it's a bit sad that we can't attract more f...

Whore Jackie Not sure it brings us much luck mind, we've not won an Inflatables Day match since Burton Albion in the 2016-17 season.

Nice to get that monkey off our back!

Elm Park Kid Sorry for being my usual vague self, but I heard some very positive stuff this morning and we should.... should be good before Friday.

Well this is excellent, thanks for your updates. Something positive from Who Moved The Goalposts? and we really can start to believe.

Akins jailed for 14 months. Plenty of time to ponder his shortcomings. And a 5-1 drubbing to end his career. oxf*rd.

Re: Away day - seating or unreserved

Do kind of think that you can't rock up at 2.55 and expect your seats then. It's almost impossible to get anywhere near them then, as nowhere can match the Mad Stad's legroom space. I do spend an inordinate amount of time picking seats on the website and more often than not don't get to stand or sit...

No issues at Burton, Huddersfield or Norwich. Not sure it brings us much luck mind, we've not won an Inflat...

Re: Record Watch 2024/25

Article in The Guardian about Birmingham name checks us. Now Birmingham, who travel to Stevenage on Thursday, have records in their sights, namely Wolves’ 103-point haul in 2013-14 and the Football League record of 106 points set by Reading when they were promoted from the Championship in 2005-06. T...

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

Pure speculation on my part, but I don’t reckon that 5 May is Domesday. I reckon the league could suspend us on 5 May (whether or not we’re in the playoffs), but give us one more deadline to complete (mid/late May) before expelling us (with actually still a few days after that because it would take...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (a)

Knibbs was brilliant. Obviously with the unselfish assist, but gesturing at us to join them on the pitch given that Bodin had actually scored. Him, Mbengue and Wareham are so brilliant with the fans. That was because we were chanting "If Bodin scores - we're on the pitch" Absolutely...

Any recommended pubs - I don't mean just for football but just generally? I am on my own and going to make a day of it just to get out the house. Will get the later train back in the evening There's loads of pubs, cafés etc on the Cheltenham Road / Gloucester Road. Have a soft spot for the Drapers ...

Less than 150 seats left. Should be a hat-trick of away sell-outs to round off the season.

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

Gents - far be it from me to incur the wrath of Brogue ( :? ) but what is the actual news - if any? Is it that Platek has dropped out and Couhig is talking up buying the club? Is there any evidence that this is proceeding? We know for certain that the Exclusivity announced in March has failed and t...

Re: Player of the season 24/25

What's different this season is there are many good candidates. At least six should be in contention: Bindon Pereira Mbengue Knibbs Savage Craig It has to be Bindon though. Would agree with this, although the improvement in Savage has been exceptional this season. Not even a regular starter last se...

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

On the academy issue, Joe Jacobson was certainly really positive about the value of the academy at Reading when he was interviewed by Dellor. No idea whether Jacobson would be involved now, but he was obviously privy to Couhig's thinking last summer. If it were me (ha!), assuming Reading don't go u...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (a)

Among the statistics that Sky put up at the end of the game are some numbers on crosses and headed clearances. Apparently Shrewsbury made 38 crosses into our box and we made 37 headed clearances. That’s a neat illustration of how dominant we were at the back (Bindon in particular) but it also shows...
