Re: Next Season's Squad.

Wouldn’t completely rule Kelly out

Not sure how accurate but one report said the unwanted players wouldn’t return to preseason on Monday - be interesting to see who turns up if true

Re: Rival Watch

Saw that - look like they aren’t splashing the cash from the look of it - 4 freebies wasn’t it?

Re: Next Season's Squad.

There's a reasonable amount to work with imo, if we can bring in a keeper, CB and CM. Would hope we could find 3 prem loans to do that - plenty around and hopefully built up some good will from last year with Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal

Re: Oliveira traing with Reading

It's probably a case of "who wants to buy them?" Knowing Gourlay, the likes of Meyler and Baldock are probably on far too much money. no doubts they are Wonder what would have happened had Gourlay not been sacked when he was. Really wouldn't have been pretty, even if we'd avoided relegati...

Re: Oliveira traing with Reading

as ever, depends on who we can sell/get rid of without having to pay up I am a little surprised we've got no-one bar Ward out of the door yet The soft embargo is a slightly strange one - if we made 4.6 in 16/17, lost 20 in 17/18, we'd have had to have lost almost 25m this past season to be actually ...

Re: Oliveira traing with Reading

It was actually profit wasn't it. The 4 .6 in 16/17. Which is even worse You are right, misread the profit as loss. So the 2 years before this we have lost circa 16m. So if we have lost close to 23m this year, we need to make a profit this. My hope is January made 18/19 less bad than 17/18, so down...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

we should get more than 1m really

Did think though there is a fair chance he is on a bumper contract. 2 years left on the deal - and as rightly pointed out he is pretty hit and miss

2m and 1m a year wages off the books wouldn't be a bad deal for us

being as he was injured for most of the last couple of months, doubt he had a complete holiday as such in the same way that players who ended the season did

Maffff’s abuse of JLow for bringing us the news on twitter is embarrassing

Re: Oliveira traing with Reading

yep that was pretty much my understand - and then hopefully 20/21 should be a lot more comfortable as the Gourlay horror season falls off the cycle I expect you are right on us being very close to that 13m limit for 18/19. We need to near break even this coming season, which will certainly be a chal...

Re: Oliveira traing with Reading

This is a done deal, finances are not an issue (well they are but resolved in July) - this will get over the line as we hit early July. interesting. And will it be followed by further signings? Would be more than happy with Oliveira, but the GK, CM and CB positions are far more urgent imo. Can't be...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

Tbf, not sure the ‘average’ fan whoever that might be, would necessarily look at those nice stats tables by Swiss Rambler and co on twitter

They give you a pretty good idea of how much wages/turnover clubs spend
