Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

Don't know a great deal about Mark Bowen. But for a long time now this club has really needed a lift and something to get the fans excited about. This doesn't feel like it.

But hey, at least it's not Mark Hughes.

Re: Where will we finish?

Good things are happening at Reading and the manager seems to know what he's doing. The squad will need time to settle and other teams are investing too so I'm not expecting a significant improvement immediately. On paper a month ago Reading looked like one of the weakest squads in the league, but n...

Re: Rumour - Puscas

Puscas could be a great signing for this league, although it's a bit of a surprise. I suspect Loader, Olise and Barrett will still get chances in the squad if he comes. Baldock and Novakovich less so. Impressed with the business that's been done today but all this talk about where the money is comin...

Rumour - Leonardo Ulloa

Seems dubious to me but interested to know people's thoughts on a free transfer. 33 years old now.

Re: Rumour - Rafael Cabral

I think it's too early to write off Virginia. I remember David De Gea being the obvious weak link in the Man United team during his first season - he's basically been their best player since then. Having said that, Reading don't have the luxury of waiting for Virginia to come good, so I'd like to se...

Re: Relegation watch

16 Blackburn I think they'll be OK but not expecting much from them this season. 17 Hull: They've got players like Bowen and Grosicki that can keep them up, or be sold on to make room for new investments. 18 Charlton: Hard to say but I think they've got the goals in them to stay up. 19 Luton: Inter...

£1m is not enough for Barrow, especially if it's true that 4 clubs are in for him.

Re: Are we screwed?

At first glance I don't see any teams in a weaker position than Reading so I understand the cause for concern. But I've often seen teams tipped for relegation finish in the playoff positions, so I'm not getting too carried away with panic at this point. IMO it's going to take something special to fi...

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader

I hate to see players leaving so early in their career, especially before they've really had a chance to make a big impact. If the club can't spend any money then it needs to hang on to the young talent. He could be worth a lot more if he scores a few goals next season. It's frustrating though as I'...

Re: Clement

Clement was always a lazy appointment for me. I feel like they just went for him because of his Chelsea/Madrid/Bayern connections but he was an assistant in all of those jobs, and its a totally different level. He's not terrible but I've always thought he would be a stopgap. If he had done well at R...

Cameron Jerome

Would you take him?

I think he'd be a great loan option, they need something more in attack. I suspect he will have better offers though if he's really leaving.

Re: Rumour - Leandro Bacuna

I think Bacuna is a good signing if it happens. He impressed me in the PL at times, he's not top quality but I don't think Reading will get that with their budget. With Danny Williams gone I think the midfield needs a bit more bite, maybe Bacuna can contribute to that. Agree that a striker is a desp...
