Re: Back from the pain

Up until the penalty incident McIntyre was excellent. Interceptions, headers, bringing the ball out. Rafael was a bystander up until that point despite Preston having a lot of 1st half possession. After the penalty it seemed to knock his confidence. maybe down to trying too hard rather than an inher...

Re: What has changed so much from last season?

Re: Sidwell. First thing to say - SJM was NOT happy at the thought of paying large wage increases to existing players simply because they had - in his mind - done the job they were paid to do, and he saw the wage inflation that came with the promotion as a curse.... My understanding at the time was...

Re: BFIT - Wycombe (H)

Ejaria should have had an assist for a brilliant cross to Meite. He was in on goal following brilliant link up play with Joao but Yaks got in the way. He put in a very good cross which fell for Semedo who should have done better. So yeah three of our best moments came through him. When he plays at ...

Exactly my memory of it. Ball disappears from view and a furiously backpeddling goalkeeper with the ball reappearing a split second before the net rippled. 2m40 on this clip. OK, maybe it want quite the half way line but nearer it than the box. https://youtu.be/-N-E-NHzSXE But is that the record di...

Re: Reading players out of contract in summer 2020

I always thought the main reason for these long contracts, especially for money signings, is to flatten the cost with regards to FFP. We weren't doing anything unusual within the game - aside from signing the wrong players of course. Another example of how FFP was/is deeply flawed. That only really...

Re: Rival Watch

I am waiting for the first pro-footballer (or his club) to admit a player can't play due to Long Covid. 15% of people surviving Covid are developing Long-Covid. There must be some players seriously under par. Can anyone think of any "missing" names? I do wonder about Hudson-Odoi at Chelse...

No access to toilets makes it impossible for me to attend anyway, so if that’s true then my other complaints are moot. Where have you read that? This seems to suggest that there will be additional facilities: Try to maintain social distancing when using the toilets as far as possible. You must foll...

Re: Reading on WhoScored

THe inconsistencies are musing but it just reinforces my belief that this sort of tuff is pretty pointl so for football. Sure, but Derby strolled around first half with barely a challenge, and second half, though they pressed, they were hardly aggressive This is why it helps to understand what the ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

So Holsgrove has gone permanently to Spain as per the OS. Seems odd to me that we never gave him a chance here. Have we received a lot of money for him? Doubtful I would have thought. Or do we simply think he is not good enough. We have had a lot of Academy lads break through but increasingly there...

Re: The generic transfer thread

I think as well for me with Liverpool its as much to do with the fact they play more on emotion than their more technical rivals.

With crowds unlikely to return to their usual levels soon , I think they'll suffer more from Covid conditions football than yer Citys, Utds and Chelsea.

Re: 20/21 season predictions

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Sheffield United suffering from second season syndrome, remind me a little bit of our team in 2006/07 Can see WBA and Fulham struggling too, but can see Leeds pushing for a top half finish. Fancy Arsenal and Tottenham to both have good seasons under two good managers an...

That's an assertion you really can't back up Vision. Gomes had us in the relegation zone iirc and Clement wasn't far off. With a change of the nature made having virtually no chance of obtaining the promotion. Lol. Well since you issued the challenge I'll give it a go ;-) The point isn't that the p...

Agree. Give the guy a chance, or go support another team. The shambLOLes at Reading isn’t his fault I’m confident we will be no higher than mid-table at Christmas so he’ll be gone by the new year Well you have got upset based on stuff that hasn’t even happened so not sure we should take your ’Confi...

Henry is the best I've seen live. He is the only player I've seen rip Reading to utter shreds. Have you only ever been to the Mad Stad to watch Reading play Arsenal? Victor Moses and Marlon King are just two names that spring to mind!! Jamie Cureton and Jason Roberts in the same game. Similiarly re...

Seem to be making a big deal of winning the World Cup with Serbia U20's. Paul Simpson who managed England when they won the trophy is currently Head Coach at Bristol City. No logical step that coaches make great managers. Clement being another example . Simpson is the "Number 2" isn't he?...

Re: Bowen's Tenure

Don’t mention that name! What on earth are we going to do with him?! Literally nothing. Nobody will buy him. Any club that would even want him won't pay half what we are paying. A loan might be possible. Honestly, and I dont like saying this, we might have to just play him.. put him on the bench an...

Re: Bowen's Tenure

That's a rare disagree with Vision here. Don't think there's any credible argument Stam got sacked for not looking like delivering promotion. He went in late March with 8 games to go and in 20th position with no wins in 9 games. If it was about not looking like he could get promotion he'd have gone...
