Re: Dear Leam

Controversial opinion incoming... Love the goals..... But Wing as Captain?.... Can't say I'm feeling it TBH... That kind of collapse shouldn't be acceptable.... I vote Derek... is that a Ricky Gervais reference? AI Overview The phrase "i vote derek" is not a widely known phrase or common ...

Re: Dear Leam

Mid Sussex Royal I hope he does...Wing told a local journo on Thurs that things had got too comfortable.
I heard it was Wing who went to the board and said things need to change, this was after the bust up in the tunnel between Lane and Hunt.

Re: Dai's final f*** you

Reading were sold in the middle on May. As much as I hate Dai, the poor recruitment over the summer was not down to him. Probably not Noel Hunt either. Players themselves have to want to to move to a club. Sometimes the options available are limited. It's difficult to sell the club when player wage...

Or Welly for those that don't want to feel "unsure". :?
or Nelly if you're female and of an age where that term might have been used by your parents to describe your front bottom

Re: Hunts gone

I know it never quite works out like this but it’s a shame he couldn’t have continued with the u21 side - a role I think he was very well suited to That would mean a pay cut and demotion, if his aim was to break into management he's better off moving into a new managerial role.... maybe sit tight/e...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

I hear Ian Royal is on the shortlist as the club do listen to the fans, nah just kidding, they gave the name to an agent who wasn't able to locate anyone by that name, although one of two were prepared to change their name if it meant getting an interview

Re: Hunts gone

From an investor/chairman point of view, Hunt is a relative unknown. If they had a proven experienced manager getting the same results then they might be more inclined to believe the manager was not the issue. They might also have more confidence in their ability to turn things around. There is some...

Re: Hunts gone

Very good statement rather than the usual 6 liner clubs issue. Nothing about the 2 coaches though...they're just as responsible for what goes on on the pitch. I guess there's no point releasing the other coaches until the new manager comes in because they may actually rate them and want to keep the...

Re: Striker STILL urgently required - can we wait until January?

I agree we need another striker, but do we not think Lewis Wing would create more goal scoring opportunities for our current strike force and score more goals himself if he wasn't playing sweeper, sometimes behind the back four?

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

Mario Noto is one I always remember (so technically not forgotten), simply because he was listed on the bench or squad at Millwall away and we all had no idea who he was. 0 First team appearances. From Spurs I signed for Reading FC and played under Brendan Rodgers and Alan Padrew. I was involved wit...

Re: Are Reading fans unfairly critical of black players?

I would add also, our fanbase does seem to be much more white than the general demographics of Reading. I don't know if that's some generational effect going on (ie. parents supporting Reading taking their kids to games) which contributes to this, some general footballing effect or something else. ...

From google AI... it's not too bad, one or two lines to steal.... bit dated with the Elm Park references though. write a song about Reading FC football player Paddy Lane (Verse 1) From the flanks he runs so bright Paddy Lane, a guiding light For the Royals, blue and white Paddy Lane, with all his mi...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Academy funding is very opaque I believe the academy expenditure (and womens team expenditure) is excluded from Profit & Sustainability calculations, so there is a benefit to allocating a higher share of costs to this than is actually received, be that half the cost of the physio team and facil...
