Re: Bowen Out.

I think we should sack Bowen, bring in some untested guy after searching for a couple of months and sell Moore and Swift after several years in a bad team. With the money from that, and FFP off our back, we can go big on a load of Brazilian players through Mattos, Europeans through Joorabchian and a...

Re: Bowen Out.

I'd take a draw tomorrow tbh. Keep Barnsley 8 off us, and another small step to 50 points. Didnt realise our GD was so much better than those below us - worth an extra point Probably this. It's a shame really. I had real hopes we'd finish the season strongly and look like a side who could push for ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h) sponsored by Nicky Forster

Of course, both purple patches were ended by injuries. The initial one playing 352 fell flat when Swift and Ejaria weren't available to create chances. Based upon their current form, its debatable whether returning to it would work, but it must be worth a try. Blackett of McIntyre can play with Mia...

Re: BFT well I don’t know what to call it without resorting to a lot of naughty words

Really? How long did Bowen spend seriously looking before the owners and he decided that he was the man for the job? Didn't Holloway claim he'd thrown his hat in the ring? Ian Holloway - who has ended up at Grimsby as no-one higher would appoint him? That Ian Holloway? Ian Holloway who is doing a g...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h) sponsored by Nicky Forster

2 strikers is fine, different ways about doing that Doesn't mean we have to go back to 5-3-2 though, when you consider we don't have the players for that formation Even 442 raises as many questions as answers though. The Coppell/McDermott style relied upon 2 hard working CMs, with all creativity co...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h) sponsored by Nicky Forster

Totally agree. Going 2 up front is a totally illogical response to having no fit strikers suited to playing up there on their own. 2 strikers is fine, different ways about doing that Doesn't mean we have to go back to 5-3-2 though, when you consider we don't have the players for that formation Even...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h) sponsored by Nicky Forster

Overall, without looking, I think we were 35 points from 22 before Leeds, now 35 from 24 = 1.45 ppg Take out those two purple patches and the other games are 13 points from 16 games Of COURSE what matters is the sum of games and I wouldn’t be mentioning this if the wins were sprinkled throughout th...

Re: BFT well I don’t know what to call it without resorting to a lot of naughty words

Obviously financially it would destroy us so I am not suggesting I want relegation to happen but in a scenario where it wouldn't financially impact us I would take it. We really do need to hit the reset button and start all over again and relegation would do that. Our owners have some cash, so prov...

Barnsley are in good form. But I actually expect a reaction from the players on Saturday; 2-0 home win.

Re: Bowen Out.

Sacking achieves nothing. We'll never get a decent manager to come in and fix things because we're not an attractive proposition to managers of the required calibre. That's why Bowen ended up replacing Gomes in the first place. We simply have to try giving a manager a proper chance, and Bowen has wo...

Re: Bowen Out.

I mean tonight is really shit. But we've had so much staff and player turnover for years, and the change never makes anything better. I'm so desperate for us to actually try stability for once that the bar for not getting sacked is incredibly low, and Bowen is not failing yet

The players I think. They are certainly resting to tonight

Re: Rival Watch

Hilarious. Awful attitude and one of the best pieces of business we have ever conducted getting a decent fee for him. Liability. That’s an odd conclusion to draw from his time with us. He was no world beater but he did a decent job in a number of positions. No more evidence of a ‘bad attitude’ than...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h) sponsored by Nicky Forster

Yiadom, Ejaria and Puscas doubts for us tonight If so, either Rino or Araruna RB or perhaps even a game for Watson? Obvious straight swap for Araruna. If he doesn't play when Yiadom and Gunter are out, what are we paying him for? Why put a quality midfielder at RB when you have two RBs available. I...

If Yiadom is out for tonight, would rather Araruna or Watson RB and leave Rino in midfield.

I'd go Rino at RB and play Adam.

Full Dutch international, so clearly talented if not consistent. How many clubs in this league have had both a full Dutch international and a Brazilian in the past 5 years?

you've calmed my nerves there Stranded... I don't think we'll get dragged in, but it'd certainly be nice to basically kill off the possibility by winning tonight A win today will be big mentally as we are now in the supposed easy bit of the season after what was a massively tough Jan and Feb - it i...

Leandro Bacuna squaring up to his own team mate on the pitch last night....I don't regret selling him at all.
