Re: ArsenaLOL

Fine-you will have read that I don't disagree and feel that they are certs to win it. The point that RR and I were making to Windemere is that they aren't a great watch which I guess their fans don't care a toss about having failed to win the big one for so long. I don't think they will win the Cha...

Re: ArsenaLOL

I vaguely remember little old Reading using a 'rushing' tactic when defending free-kicks. Maybe under Pardew? Albeit this was to catch the opposition offside. As the attacker was about to take the kick our entire defence would sprint out and the attack would little a little lonely. And offside. I d...

Re: ArsenaLOL

We've all been through '1-0 to the Arsenal', Vic - and Arsenal won a lot more stuff when they were 'boring'. Arteta should be getting some huge credit. Sure they've not got over the line the last two seasons, but like Klopp did with Liverpool he has them thereabouts and challenging. Now this season...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Royal Rother Palace now have both Mateta and Strand Larsen.

Obviously I could be proved very wrong (maybe I’ve just seen the wrong games) but crikey, £48m for THAT?

They always use the 'up to' figure (or euros etc)

Re: The generic transfer thread

Gallagher to Spurs, £34m Not a bad price that for an English player with plenty of prem experience +1 Fcuk all for a decent English midfielder with prem experience. Especially as a Jan purchase to help achieve whatever goals the team has He would have massively improved Utd's midfield as well. Poss...

Re: ArsenaLOL

Good statement win for them today Leeds isn`t an easy place to go, ask Liverpool United and Chelsea. they`re in a good place to push on now, of course we have the big one in April when they go to city. they`ll be hoping to have a healthy cushion by then. No doubt we`ll have the unusual spectacle of...

Re: Weekend Football

They believe it's a mythical way of playing the most pure football that mankind has ever seen. We all know it means being excruciatingly mediocre and constantly sacking managers for not delivering on the above. What's the Reading way? There is no Reading way, the same as 99% of football clubs out t...

Re: Weekend Football

I think what the Spurs fans believe is the Spurs way differs massively from what everyone else thinks of as the Spurs way. I mean we all just think its means a bit of a shambles don't we? They believe it's a mythical way of playing the most pure football that mankind has ever seen. We all know it m...

Re: ArsenaLOL

Why are Arsenal not penalised at every set piece! There's blocking by standing your ground, but actively running at a player, initiating contact, and then blocking is just a foul! Makes for turgid football as well

Can see a rule change coming

LUX
Winston Biscuit 2 weeks in a row I find myself cheering on Man Utd :(

+1.

But tbh I don’t want City or Chelsea to win it either.

Villa I suppose. Yes, definitely them.

Right, that puts to bed the nonsense about the 2026 Arsenal team beating the 2008 Utd team

Sanguine
Winston Biscuit Being suggested that Marc Guehi is close to joining Man City

I'm amazed to be honest that Liverpool have 'let' this transfer happen. How were they not all over Guehi to make sure he moved to them?

No guarantee of CL, and the possibility of Slot being sacked prolly don't help

Re: Weekend Football

Also, whilst I'm here...Doku!

I love watching him play, but zero end product. Seven (7) goals in 76 games as a wide forward for City is shite.

Compare him to Mane, who scored 90 in 196 games. I chose him as he plays the same position in side that could also dominate teams.

Re: Weekend Football

Surely has to be Arsenal's year this time? Before Christmas I thought City were on one of those ominous runs which have reeled in Liverpool and Arsenal before, but this is not one of their vintage teams. Arsenal don't need to be a great team to win it this year. They just need to be good enough, wh...

Battered City on the counter. Hit the post and three disallowed goals for marginal offside.
