Re: Poll: Should Noel Hunt be sacked?

He’s been here for nearly a year now with (from a very rough count) about a 1/3 win rate in a poor division with some good players League games only ... First spell - 0 % (5 games, 2 pts, 0 wins) Last season - 42.8 % (28 games, 45 points, 12 wins) This season - 16.7 % (12 games, 11 points, 2 wins) ...

Re: Poll: Should Noel Hunt be sacked?

Just starting a new thread on it is bad enough. So convince us that we’re improving and not getting worse? Not sure not losing at home to Mansfield and getting a brave 1 point at Exeter are the decision points to mount the case for the defence. There's no case needing to be made imo. And you wouldn...

Re: Poll: Should Noel Hunt be sacked?

Ffs you as well Clyde? No. I think he should remain as manager, at least until he's had an opportunity to play his strongest squad (thinking about players like O'Connor; Williams; Ritchie; Yiadom being missing for large chunks of the season so far). I think we've got a mid-table squad and will prob...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

Another turgid half of football from us. Jacobs is crap, might as well have one of our own learning their trade rather than using an below average loanee Crackers! Lane again on the wrong road. No midfield and creating zero. Really losing the will to watch this crap every week. Cant blame, injuries...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

Hound Not good. Front 3 have been dreadful. Full backs look dodgy, Doyle not in the game.

CBs, Savage and JP been ok and keeping us in it

It’s all about the midfield. It’s disfunctional failing to create anything or protect the full backs.

Linden Jones' Tash The only time we seem obsessed with playing little triangles is literally in our own penalty box....

Otherwise it seems to be lump it & hope...

And playing the ball across our own box into danger. Insanity

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Ashley Westwood. Was at Utd's academy, prolly in and around the class of 92, but he was prolly a bit younger. Ooh he was marvellous in my championship manager 2 young Crewe team that got to the champions league in 1995. Happy days Yeah, he went to Crewe after Utd. I think he played LB He sure did

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

 #plastic I went to quite a lot of games at Maine Road as well as OT. The kid across the road was a city fan, so I went with them. He played a couple of seasons in the prem for Bradford and Sheff Wednesday Benito Carbone? Ashley Westwood. Was at Utd's academy, prolly in and around the class of...

Re: Hunt out.

Yeah, discussed this with Hound a bit. To me Ritchie hasn't actually created a lot, and at 36 hasn't convinced me he has the legs to start. Yes, he's go two assists, but to me those were all about experience and touch, making the best of someone else's creativity, rather than him creating something...

Re: Hunt out.

Which is not a criticism of the substitutions. I did wonder that about Richie. Recently it has been: Reading concede an early goal, we chase the game/the opposition park the bus, bring Richie on, he assists Marriott, we get a draw Why can't we start with Richie then perhaps we'd be the ones scoring...

Re: Hunt out.

A lot of people wanted to switch from 4-3-3 and inverted wingers although DK/Marriot/Lane were just starting to combine better together and get the press right. Hunt then switched to 4-2-3-1 (presumably to shoehorn Doyle into the team), swapped Dk and Lane over and they've both been absolute shite ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

For all the quality Wing has, think there’s a reason he is where is is Not strong enough defensively (his “effort” for their goal on Saturday ) and looks lost higher up the pitch Technically he’s far good for this league but he’s a dilemma tactically Well then putting him as last midfielder at the ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

Mansfield had some decent chances beyond their goal and the goal ruled offside looked very tight - albeit I was down the other end of the stadium. We weren’t great today, so many individual errors, but I wonder how much the very strong wind impacted us. We seemed to be playing more passes on the gr...
