Re: Finance

So a £40 million loss in 2018/19. That is horrific. Assuming we have some kind of summer transfer window we have to cut our cloth. This is going to catch up with us in the end. How the hell have we managed to get into that state ? Has anyone checked the stationery account ? Is someone nicking a few...

Re: Finance

Anyone for conspiracy theories ? Dai was tipped the wink by his Chinese scientist mates in August that COVID-19 was being prepared for release and that it would have a devastating effect on the world economies to the extent that football would become a non-priority. Splashes the cash in the knowledg...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Coding conventions and under-reporting, whether politically driven or not are rife. With the rise of authoritarian regimes and their use of 'fake news' and undermining legitimate institutions, it's going to get harder to find robust information. Modelling based on quality assumptions is probably as...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

There's is a simple rule of thumb estimate for deaths This is cruder than the one I use, but... Deaths are approximately 20% of the case-total fourteen days previous Unfortunately that "20%" is slowly increasing But for a ball park estimate think 20-21% Mar-28 Actual Deaths = 19.76% of to...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

The clubs with a massive player wages to income ratio's are going to be in financial dire straits because of the shut down; sadly, that puts us right in the firing line, as our wages to income ratio is (according to the Financial analyst, Swiss Ramble) 197%................... What chance a relaxati...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

It’s really disappointing to see that playing staff are being asked to ‘defer’ their pay, but non-playing staff furloughed with a 20% cut in income, never to be seen again.

Re: Sky Sports/ BT Sports

A welcome move - albeit Sky say that we 'don't need to do anything to turn it back on', which leads me to wonder why they can't just pause all the subscriptions themselves. Some people may still be watching endless repeats of the last couple of decades of the Sky Sports archive just to get their sp...

[ 25,000 a day was what he stated but even that sounds pie in the sky for the moment at least. and he added, "and on up to 250,000 A journey asked him to clarify and he passed the buck to the scientist who waffled but did not confirm Well that does sounds like essentially every Boris corona vi...

Mid Sussex Royal Yes that's right - I've got the entire Orient game broadcast on Sky on a video somewhere....I believe it was a Saturday tea time which was unheard for live games back then

I was in St Lucia for the Orient game but managed to record it AND get home to watch it without knowing the result 8)

Re: 2019/20 Season - How will it end?

Could they cancel the domestic cups? Come back after the summer and complete this season, then take a break, start the season late (October, for example) but don't bother with the League Cup or FA Cup. Should free up a considerable number of evenings and weekends League Cup 100% should be binned of...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Worse case scenarion, I`m not worried I`ve got 100 toilet rolls to keep me alive. "NHS Officials have leaked". Ive often wondered who these officials that leak documents are. If you did that in most jobs you would be sacked and in some cases prosecuted as well. Why are there no investigat...

Whilst I accept that the cost of Sky is high, the standard of presentation is so far and away higher than terrestrial it’s not funny.
If the sports are ‘returned’ and end up sub-standard then that’s not a long term move

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Wow Uk deaths jump from 11 to 21 in a single day 90,000 die every year from the Flu, but please do keep buying into the fear-mongering being peddled left and right. And 2 million could die of this. At 6% or 7% as Wuhan and Italy have seen, and 60% get it, like Boris wants, that's 2 million dead. Ea...
