Re: Reading fail to pay staff full salary

Yes, I mean I've seen some shoddy working practices in my time but I struggle to accept for a company that has to do this monthly it's anything other than trivial. To be fair, recent history would suggest that Reading FC is a company that doesn't know it's arse from it's elbow. Would explain why ou...

Re: Football Stadia - Past, Present & Future

Saw this on the BBC website this morning and thought of this thread. So, here for your nostalgic pleasure is the link https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/extra/DqkhZA6FP7/around-the-92-in-the-1980s Almost brought a tear to my eye at the end. Brief mention of RFC too. My lad almost can't believe we're gonna be div 1 next season but I've assured him we've been there, done it, and come good.

Learning hard the Reading way; poor boy. :(

Edit: he's still in his full Reading kit.

Re: New manager poll

Bit surprised that they didn't ask McDermott to interim until the end of the season. He's still involved with the club, is in a good place at the moment, I guess would inspire some of the players to be managed by someone who actually has experience and track record of success. Don’t think BM is inv...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (h)

Decent review and brilliant to see the stands pretty full, about time. Downside is that everywhere just so busy. We travelled up from Wimborne, son was starving, promised him food at half time, we left before the board went up and queue in east stand was about 40 deep perhaps more at this time. Is ...

But yes otherwise was freezing. V bored of winter now

Was actually looking across to the East stand with a certain jealousy.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (h)

Carrol was MOTM for me. Really put himself about , chipped in with a cool penalty and he is actually an effective target man. Just a shame he had no-one to support him to take advantage of his flick ons etc but that's because we do play too defensively. Always seems one rash tackle away from a yello...

Re: Qatar Hero - The World Cup 2022 thread

Maybe the Iran v Wales result will shut up all those people who said it was "only" Iran that England put 6 past....that England result has - as they say in horse racing - just been franked. Iran gave Wales a footballing lesson this morning; their movement and passing was crisp, quick and ...

Re: Will you be watching the World Cup?

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

Agreed in the main, I am mostly thinking about midweek games where traffic can be a bit of a nightmare, rather than a Saturday as it'll be much easier to just get a train down at whatever time and have a few beers in town before jumping on the bus. If the trains line up nicely though it could be wo...

Re: BTFG - Bristol City

Well I swelled the attendance figure by 8 this weekend by going for the 1st time in ages. Took my lad and his mates plus the wife. First half was hard watching but second half we upped the tempo and pressed better and got the rewards. Great delivery for the corner. We were right above it and I knew ...

Well I didn't get to read your replies before hand (thanks anyway) so just bought a load of chips from the van outside the north stand. They were ok but £4.50 a go was waaay too much for chips.

Re: Tadley to Reading Games by Bus

Planning to go to the Bristol game on the 22nd Oct with my lad and a bunch of his mates. Does anyone here get the Stagecoach bus that runs from Basingstoke via Tadley/Burghfield? I've used in the past but can't see any details online. Unhelpfully the official site says to click here but has no link...
