Re: Brian is staying according JM on BBCRB

I agree with JM - but McDermott needs money to turn it around in Jan. However, never again do I want to see a performance as toothless as the one on Saturday. And all the tossers calling for his head need to have a reality check. This time last year we weren't even in the playoff positions, we've s...

Re: How Long Will BM Last at this rate?????

If Brian stays we will get relegated, although he may be able to bring us straight back up again. The only worry is there are currently at least 5 teams in the Championship with a better squad than ours. If we get a new manager with more tactical ability then we might just stand a chance. Paolo Di C...

Post Olympic Blues

Before the olympics started I was thinking what a waste of money and I was still on top of the world after Reading's promotion. However, after being lucky enough to go to a couple of the events and seeing how much it mean't to all the athletes taking part and the feel good factor it gave to the nati...

Re: When was your first Reading game?

I think it was unusually a Wednesday afternoon, 19 January 1972. Reading 6 Blyth Spartans 1. I will always be grateful to my dad for setting me on the right path.

Re: We should have bought another striker!

Did McCLeary play as a striker for Forest last year? My thinking is he would be an option if we get the usual injuries and suspensions etc. We are having only our third year in the premiership lets just enjoy it. I am looking forward to beating Arsenal and then all the pundits saying how sh*t Arsena...

Re: Official Deadline Day Thread......

I am not ITK but I was just wondering if anyone else has heard anything about this. I work with a Swindon fan and we have quite a lot of banter about footie and last night he sent me a text basically taking the pi** because we hadn't signed anyone. However, he said that our new owners want to get Re...

Re: Official Deadline Day Thread......

I have to say that the attitude of some of the fans on here quite shocking. They behave like spoilt little kids whose mummy won't buy them their favourite toy.

Re: Official Deadline Day Thread......

I would have loved us to have signed someone else but in all honesty Jordan Rhodes or Wilfred Zaha wouldn't have guaranteed us premiership survival. Also, there are still some good unattached players that we could potentially sign if BM feels they are a good fit for the club. Spending £12m like Sout...

Re: RUMOUR - Carlton Cole

A fit and healthy Carlton Cole, suddenly bizarrely back to his best form (which was never that good!), would be a f*cking miracle! Ask yourself this, West Ham, a team who we hammered twice last season, are getting rid of one of their many strikers - will it be a good one? NO!!!!. To be honest it is...

Re: RUMOUR - Carlton Cole

I wonder if West Ham looking likely to sign Andy Carroll, could mean this one might happen. So if West Ham get a top class striker, you'd be a happy with one of their rejects, would you/ Good Bl**dy Grief! A fit and healthy Carlton Cole would be a good signing and if BM and NH are happy, I am happy.

I would love us to sign Nigel Reo coker, as I still think that we could do with another central midfielder. I doubt if we will sign anyone else but I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised......

Re: RUMOUR - Geoffrey Kondogbia

So much for this one being resolved in 48 hours. I was looking at the Seville website etc. and he doesn't even get a mention on there. I did wonder whether NH might be delaying going to Portugal to get this deal done. Anyway, whatever happens I am more than happy with the business we have done.

Re: RUMOUR: Jordan Rhodes

As teams tend to give you a bit more time in the premiership, I think that Church might surprise a few people. I must admit that I have never really rated him but people that know much more about football than me do. Some players can look better in the premiership than the championship and that may ...

Re: Reading game you would like to watch again

I have seen some really great Reading games over the last 40 years and also many dire games as well. There are lots of games I would love to see again like the second leg of the play off semi final against Wigan. However, If I could only choose one game to re-live it would be in the 1978/79 season ...

Re: Jason Roberts...Do you sometimes find him annoying?!

Blakey's Right Peg Can't really say it bothers me to be honest.

Roberts comes across a fairly articulate chap (for a footballer), talks about the club in a very positive light and helps to boost our profile.

Completely agree with this.
