Re: Weekend Football

Norwich have now scored just 4 goals in 22 Prem games (over 2,000 minutes of football)

Good point today but that’s a really poor record

Re: THE BETTING THREAD

3rd place Swindon 11/8 at home to beat 18th place Rochdale on Skybet. A good one to push up the acca odds. In fairness, Rochdale do have the best midfielder in the division Leicester at 5/2 may be worth something with Maguire and Varane both out but then (A) - Leicester are in really poor form and ...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Yep. Kane is world class. Aubamayang too. Also, more world-class players makes teams better. Was depressed to read on Twitter earlier a summation that if Sterling left City his career is basically finished. I hope we're not more broadly moving towards a view in football that if you're not playing f...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Sterling not happy with his lack of game time at City, says he would consider a move abroad. That might just be now what he wants to do - can't help but feel though that there is still a world-class player in Sterling, if someone could do something with his decision-making. Is a shame he never play...

Re: THE BETTING THREAD

Couple of other things spotted, City’s last four home games against Burnley have been 5-0, 5-0, 5-0 and 5-0. Odds at 14/1 doesn’t seem too far fetched

Millwall and Luton are our two draw specialists in the league so odds of 23/10 may turn out a winner

Re: England - the future....

Sterling and Kane did bugger all, Mount and Foden not a lot. Grealish was involved in everything threatening we did, kept the ball well. No surprise who got subbed first. I get it. Football’s a complicated game and Southgate’s just too smart for me. Sterling’s all round play has been dire for month...

Re: Weekend Football

They are financially secure and have a great ownership structure that will ensure the club are around for many years to come. They'll never struggle financially and have a fantastic youth set up to fall back on. Their supporters get to watch the best players in the world playing at Carrow Road and ...

Re: World Cup 2022 qualifying begins

Just caught up with the Lewis red card too. Very harsh but you can see the ref forget about the original booking, once he’s brandished the second yellow, was little he could do

Effectively ended any chance of NI qualifying too although Lewis was still pretty naive given he was already on a yellow

Re: World Cup 2022 qualifying begins

Didn’t quite know what thread to put it in as I still don’t really understand the Nations league but I thought Spain were unlucky tonight, certainly the better side over the 90 Problem with Spain and the way they play though is that I feel they have to be in a period of domination to score whereas t...

Re: Ex Players

going back a bit further, Lewis Ward doesn't seem to be getting any games - now at Swindon, which is a shame as thought he looked ok. Ward made his debut today, made a couple of top saves apparently, including a penalty save, see if he keeps his place next week when the regular is back from interna...

Re: newcastle takeover now complete

Because it's high profile, the Saudi involvement will get attention. The reality is that our country is awash with investment and money from sinister sources and sportswashing is widespread. I can't really begrudge Newcastle specially, and if I really cared passionately enough about these issues wo...

Re: newcastle takeover now complete

Newcastle last won a major trophy in 1969 (Fairs/UEFA Cup). The last major domestic honour to come their way was the FA Cup in 1955. That said they have won the Second Division 3 times since 1969 and also the Intertoto thing in 2006 and a couple of Texaco/Anglo Italian cups in the 70s though since ...

On the 106ers, I remember Kitson at Stoke and Pompey, but not Sheffield United. https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article13699628.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200b/0_Reading-v-Sheffield-United-FA-Cup-Fourth-Round.jpg Had a spell at Boro too which I forgot about - think Lita was there at the same time

Good teams know how to win ugly. not that ugly though Do wonder what the reaction had been had they scored. After Cov, which didn't watch but sounded fairly similar it was all outrage in how shit we'd been, despite conceding a very late goal. Had that flukey cross been 1 cm the other way and gone i...

Re: THE BETTING THREAD

Nice 14/1 - three or more goals in each Prem game - returned £140, first proper win of the season I reckon you are very pleased with Brentford getting their late winner. Aye - don’t like Thomas Frank much and I like the work Moyes has done at West Ham but was a sweet feeling although it didn’t look...
