Re: MATCHWATCH : Leyton Orient (h)

Seemed a good atmosphere throughout the game, I know it's not their longest journey of the season but I didn't realise they were as well supported as they were either on their travels. Seemed like we did quite well in the first half but fell away as the second half wore on. I don't think it's the wo...

Re: Racism Shame

Hopefully the person gets everything they deserve, should throw the book at them and never allow them back into a ground again. It really does baffle me how stupid some people can be. Let alone it's disgusting in it's own right, but you're almost certainly going to get called/found out as well.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I was of the understanding that the Thais own the car park for the royal elm park development whenever that comes to fruition. The Royal Elm Park development is still well in discussions at the moment. Some of the noise from the developers seems to be that "significant work" will be under...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Could De Zerbi be an alternative shout if Alonso doesn't come off for whatever reason? I think there will be other candidates ahead of him to be honest, I can't see him being one too high on the list to replace Klopp. I haven't been all that impressed by Brighton this season either. Maybe slightly ...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

I didn't expect him to announce it mid-season, especially as Liverpool are in good positions for 3/4 trophies this season. It's going to be a very tough act to follow for the next person, unless it's a real high profile name who can continue where he has left off. Imagine the carnage if it was Jose ...

Re: Confrimed - Abbey and Holmes going

I do feel that a lot of the love for NGW is largely down to the fact he wasn't Baba Rahman who, given his profile, was bloody awful for us. I was never that impressed with him and suspect we signed him largely because Bowen knew him from Wimbledon and he was a cheap back up. Agree. Not concerned ab...

Re: Confrimed - Abbey and Holmes going

I'd imagine it's a small fee for us as well, I can't see anything over seven figures for him. There may be a sell on clause on this though which would be ideal, but that's not based on anything other than hopeful speculation. I'm assuming you mean over £1m, but over seven figures reads like at leas...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

I think Dorsett is ok at LB at the moment, I know he's seen as a CB but he's done pretty well there, so maybe not the position to change. I would rather have Mbengue come in if anyone if it wasn't going to be TMac. It's worth noting that TMac and Holmes haven't played alongside each other this year,...

Re: Selles In

Probably sounds about fair for him to be honest, although can't comment on relationship with players as we don't truly know but players seem to buy into his ideas on the field anyway and we have picked up a bit in the last couple of months in terms of results. It probably wasn't the ideal audition t...

Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

Senga seemed to be knocking on the door of the first team under Ince, was regularly named (retrospectively speaking) in some post-match press conferences and got an opportunity or two. I think Hunt brought him on as a holding midfielder against Huddersfield, although he might be a decent CB replacem...

Re: Potential New Owners

Well we did basically get to a PO Final and FA Cup Semi under them ... and it seems like letting McDermott go was more personal circumstances they couldn't talk about, which was my only real bone of contention with them. Yeah sorry I wasn't very clear there - I meant as if they'd have stayed on ins...

Re: Potential New Owners

Going back a few years, I remember someone at Bradford saying they got a call from Aston Villa offering £100,000 for Ian Ormondroyd. Although he wasn't a 1st team regular, they weren't particularly looking to sell him so as a joke, they replied if you come back with a £500,000 bid, we'll think abou...

Re: Potential New Owners

Barrow is one player that I genuinely missed out of all the one's we let go. Not sure what he was earning (or what fee we actually received for him) but he had plenty of pace which seemed to have caused teams all sorts of problems and had an eye for goal. Assuming the Thai's were still in charge, I ...

Re: Potential New Owners

They sorted out Vibrac and HMRC. Started bringing the wage bill down to manageable levels, and had the club moving in the right direction. They were good for the club. Yeah I do think it's a bit of a shame that they couldn't sustain the club in the long-term, although that's probably only because o...

Re: Potential New Owners

I’d largely say the Thai consortium was neutral at worst. Saved us from Zingarevic and had the decency to duck out when they were done. Downside is they let Dai take over but that’s a him thing and it’s always a roll of the dice. Thais only cared about getting the car park! Although he saved the cl...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Well that was hours of travelling to watch a drab game. I thought a draw would have been a fair result because both teams were poor. We were on top in the second half, but were undone by one moment of brilliance in the first half. I still don’t see any real pattern to our play which is frustrating....
