I'm sure the Moscow coach said he was free to go. £1m wouldn't be a bad price if Coppell rates him though.

Maguire
SpaceCruiser I'm shocked that Russia seems to be a backward country. What possessed Bikey to go there in the first place?

I believe he was offered a contract of employment by a professional football club.

I think that could well be it Maguire, good call.

Kitson said similar things last season (although it was more to do with it not being a very good team-building exercise), and he had a good season. It's just a whinge. Yes it is just a whinge and if it was any other player who said it it would probably have gone pretty much unnoticed. But it is our...

 if you want to maximise your royalty points in order to stand any chance of getting to the big away games - i.e. Chelsea Man Utd etc, then those 20 are necessary. In order to get them you have to go (or at least pay for a ticket) to watch a pre-season friendly. They'll only be necessary to p...

I've got no problem with those comments at all. Just seems like he is raring to get going rather than play in what was no more than a training match.

Just seems that people are moaning because Sidwell came out with the comments, if Shorey, Sonko or Convey had said it doubt most would say anything.

Royal Lady they might be working on it, but it doesn't guarantee any other players will want to sign for us.

True but that's hardly the clubs fault.

There's more to it than the lack of signings, it's the latent greed of the club and the players alike. For the first time in history, supply is exceeding demand and the attitude has been tosqueeze every last penny imaginable from the fans. If we'd said that we would use the windfall to clear debt e...

I thought the rise in season ticket prices was meant to cover the cost of new players being brought into the squad. Or something. I'm more concerned that the likes of Shittu prefer to sign for Watford than us. How do you know Shittu prefers Watford to us, we may never have actually bid for him - ce...

Errrr, those of us collecting the 5 and 2pts per game will have more at the start of this season compared to "new" fans. If you are buying on a game by game basis you will not get caught by these fans if you go to the same number of games as them and if you have an ST you are laughing. So ...

That Friday Feeling
mathematically_safe but literacy challenged that means you can legally have a square pitch - 90 x 90??

Warfield Royal The field of play must be rectangular. The length of the touch line must be greater than the length of the goal line.

HTH

So you could have a pitch measuring 90.01 X 89.99 then. Would look square to the naked eye!!

you'd hope not (at least for the chronicles sake) because if they're making up quotes for meetings with hammond, coppell etc, that never occured, then they may find themselves being blacklisted by the club ie....... the players and employees of the club being told not to talk to anyone fronm the pa...

It can be justified as we've sold 18,000 of them. Yes, because people who have spent 20 years following Reading were not about to say 'Maybe I'll skip this season as the prices have got so high'. RFC knew this and have taken full advantage of it. Where were the offers of renewing tickets for the sa...

Marvelous, Coppell has put all his eggs in one basket and it looks like we'll be shafted. And you know that for a fact do you? Anyway, EP reports that the deal is all but dead hence why the Cameroonian defender is in Sweden. Apparently we have been close to tying up some deals only for it to break ...

Mr Angry My understanding is that this may well be a confirmation of the bid made pre WC.

Reading this BBC article that they've just put up, I think you are probably right.

Doesn't seem to be anything new there.

Did Sky say when was the bid tabled? Did Coppell say when the bid was tabled? I was under the impression that we were all aware that a bid HAD been made before the WC - thats why the figures of £4 -£4.5M have been bandied about for ages (even on this thread). IF this is a new bid then it most cer...

Dirk Gently Won't the BBC 5-Live site do live text commentary anyway - I thought they did to all Premier league matches?

BBC has live text commentary on all games - certainly Prem/Championsip at least. It's not particularly amusing in the same way as the cricket commentary but is there.

Would there be much take up of a podcast of commentary? Can't see many people wanting to listen to radio commentary of a game they already know the result of and would have probably seen highlights of on Match of the Day/Sky. Anyway, how about a "Day in the Life" series following different...
