Re: Reserves at Brentford Tonight

I guess reflected glory is better than none at all:- Shevchenko fails to light up Griffin Park http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2261926,00.html Once he was feted by glitterati such as Silvio Berlusconi and Giorgio Armani - last night he was outshone by Jimmy Smith and Phil Younghusband. ...

So, Convey played well last night? Is there any value in putting him back in at LM and Hunt playing at RM on Saturday, I wonder?

Re: Reserves at Brentford Tonight

Huntley & Palmer LOL @ people getting excited at winning a reserve league. Small time club mentality

Oh, I don't know. I have Liverpool supporting friends who are getting very excited about their Ressies' chances of winning the play-off.

Re: Reserves at Brentford Tonight

Fogot about this one and it is only round the corner from me, can't make it though. Anyone know if there will be a feed on this as they are normally live on ChelseaTV and last years game was available over the net. Well, it's certainly on Chelsea TV:- http://www.chelseafc.com/page/ChelseaTVOnline/0...

Re: And now you're gonna believe us?????

Errrrr... yes it is. By saying it's in our hands generally means that we have the ability to stay up if we play at our best and win all :)) our games. Errrrrrrrr... no it's not. Because even if we win all our games, Newcastle could win all theirs (except v us)and end up with a better gd than us. .....

Re: What team would you pick to play against Boro?

RTFC Drummer Which Formation?

USA in goal and the old 2-3-5 I reckon. Two full-backs (Murty, Shorey), three half-backs (Bikey, Harper, Marek), two wingers (Kebe, Hunt), two inside-forwards (Lita, Long), and Kitson as centre-forward.

Should give 'em something to think about.

Re: Will Coppell change it?

Thanks Richi - you've made the point I was trying to make but CM was failing to get. Coppell's 'reasons' for not picking Lita are a nonsense when you consider Doyle's record with a consistent run in the first team. CM I know Coppell wasn't asked about Doyle (it's a shame no one at the press confere...

Re: Will Coppell change it?

He's starting to change his mind again! Faith is starting to come back and therefore he doesn't 'think there will be many changes'. Leroy 'has started seven or eight and not scored' Now remind me how many Doyle has started and not scored?!!! With respect, isn't that taking his comments a ...

Re: Team for Boro

How about building on this team Federici, Rosenior, Bikey, De la Cruz, Duberry, Hunt, Cisse, Fae, Convey, Long, Lita This is the last combination to have had any form of success (1-1 v Spurs) Do you mean the 2-2? TBH, I didn't think that line-up worked well enough to justify all the players coming ...

Re: M'boro prediction thread

Murty will be proud of our effort. Coppell will not fault the team but admit that Boro were the better side. Harper will be gutted. Hunt will state that we need to kick on. ...and there'll be ten Cup Finals sitting on the wall... Before the Bolton and Villa performances, I would have been hopeful o...

Re: Player of the year

I would say Hahnemann, he's had some blinders against the likes of Brum away and Man U at home. Distribution's still appalling and there have been one or two horrendous errors, but considering the battering we've taken over the season, I think he's done really well. Runners up: Hunt, Kitson. The lat...

Re: Tactics, Corners and Crosses

I think it all comes down to Harper and Mateyovski not being able to play together in the centre of the park as it offers us ZERO defensive options in the midfield. This in my mind led to Hunt and Oster going into the centre midfield to try to get the ball back. Drop Harps! How about bringing in Bi...

Re: Time to button it, John Madejski

can anyone think of a team that has been promoted from ten years ago or longer and stayed there ever since ? Arsenal? Asked for that, didn't I? I was going to edit it yet again, but I hope my point is clear: outside of the privileged elite it takes a lot to establish a club in the Premier League fo...

Re: Time to button it, John Madejski

CMRoyal, I think the biggest flaw in your examples is that none of them managed to keep themselves in the Premiership for a sustained period of time. They're definately models I'd want us to follow. True, but I guess what I was trying to illustrate that there's no easy way to immediately establish ...

Re: Time to button it, John Madejski

Pompey, Middlesbrough, Bolton and Blackburn used/ are using which method? All have had their ups and downs, they've all tasted 2nd tier football in the last 10 years (I think - I stand to be corrected), and Pompey and Boro (I think?) had financial issues in establishing themselves in the top divisi...

Re: Time to button it, John Madejski

No, Reading FC is still in the Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich, Bradford, Norwich (WBA, Watford) category and has decided to mould itself around the better, more realistic (pragmatic even) methods those clubs employ in an attempt to establish themselves at the next level. We all want that sooner rathe...
