Re: NUFC Match Thread - Sponsored by Pardew is a Kunt

I only managed to get the stream at 55 minutes so from what I saw we were by far the better side and deserved the win.

Re: The Great Escape

we have to pay the going rate, if we dont then we may as well give up. Like it or not that is the truth. According to many we don't pay the going rate and we're doing pretty well for it, so that seems a bit of a nonsense argument. It might make it difficult to stay in the PL beyond a season or two,...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

There needs to be consequences in order to discourage scum from doing the cheating-through-administration over and over again. There are consequences - the points deductions are meant to be a deterrent, but they patently aren't because of the number of times they've been used. And the massive, mass...

Tony Le Mesmer This is the 1st year we haven't had to sweat. Im kind of missing it.

Does seem strangely calm, although I didn't like the first three qurters of last season with Charlton looking strong - I guess I can't have it all ways

Re: Reading v WBA - Match thread sponsored by "Sean" Long

And lol @ the player who passed the ball to Lukaku getting an assist for the second goal. The only assist he got for that was our defense being too scared to close him down. Is that despite the fact that Morrisson picked up the ball just outside his own box and ran with it to the half-way line befo...

Re: Rumour - Darren Bent

He is a quality finisher if given service in the box, but anonymous in a struggling side and would add little more than what we have as we have fairly decent finishers at the club already. That's just simply not true. The guy has a 1 in 2 ratio throughout his career. Any player would be anonymous i...

Re: Back from the miracle

Having seen the first goal again, I was wrong. Carrico is clearly unfit and should have done better tracking Lukaku. I think we missed Legs' pace there, though Legs might have just left him to Harte. I'm amazed nothing has been made of the fact that Lukaku was offside for the first goal. It's might...

Re: Did you leave early?

I think anyone arriving late or leaving early should pay a fine to compensate those that are disturbed.

That way everyone is happy
- you can come and go as you like
- those that want to watch the whole game know you're paying your dues
- the club can generate enough cash for an extra signing

Re: Did Reading win or did West Brom lose???

If West Brom had gifted the 3 goals then I would say they 'lost' it.

On the grounds that, notwithstanding the stupid challenge for the penalty, the goals were created and West Brom didn't miss a string of sitters (indeed, were somewhat unlucky with a few), Reading won it.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round 2012/2013

I think their managerial appointment process consists of a large sheet of paper with faces/numbers on it, then the chicken walks around on it, and whoever the chicken shits on is the new manager. Which would be the untilamte irony because that's how the manager will feel after a few weeks/months {d...

Re: Lukaku - 18 Million pound Chelsea player

Thing is, Reading could have this type of player on loan but they won't. The reason being there is no chance of signing him on a perm basis. Fair enough BUT sometimes a loan signing could be the difference of going down and staying up. And then leaves a massive hole in the team the following year. ...

edinburghroyal Who's better: us now or Derby 2007-08?

We're already 5 points better than Derby 07-08
So as far as gaining points is concerned 'us now' are significantly better

Re: Reading v WBA - Match thread sponsored by "Sean" Long

We deserved that win. I think people are forgetting, or maybe they don't know if they weren't there, that WBA should have been down to 10 men for a second yellow in the first half. If their defender hadn't already received one, the ref almost certainly would have given it. I disagree. We simply did...

Re: Reading v WBA - Match thread sponsored by "Sean" Long

There was seriously something off about the performance in the first half. We looked like we were half asleep, I didn't watch the last ten minutes but something magical must have happened. Jesus Christ. Football is pretty mental. This sort of game is why supporting a team like Reading is SOOOOOOOOO...
