Sidwell’s ray of hope
STEVE SIDWELL has once again stressed he could still pledge his future to Reading.
Royals have made a great impact in their first-ever season in the Premiership, but the contract rebel, who is a free agent in the summer, has so far resisted all offers.
He is now able to hold talks with any foreign club, but the midfielder sees his future in England.
Reading are keen to keep hold of him but were unwilling to meet his pay demands earlier in the season.
However, they could now be prepared to pay him £25,000 per week in an effort to keep hold of him
[b]Sidwell said: “Hopefully we’ll sit down this month and talk. The ball’s in the club’s court.
“We’ll have to wait and see. It’s not just a case of me wanting to stay. I’ve always said I will continue to play well for the club.
“The way we are going at the moment is fantastic. I am certainly not itching to get away because we are going superbly.
“It’s just a case of me sitting tight and weighing up all my options, but at the moment it’s looking good.â€
