6 pointer on Saturday?

by Friday's Child » 19 Apr 2007 15:18

Bolton could go to 57 points leaving Reading on 48 if Bolton win.
Bolton could stay on 54 points with Reading on 51 if Reading win.

Europe anyone? I can't believe the negativity on here sometimes. Yes, SC reckons Europe wouldn't be a good thing. However, our reserves are strong enough for the FA Cup, so why not abroad? If we don't do all that well, we'll still get revenue, and if the first team isn't wholly disrupted (especially if we fail to do well á la the FA/League Cup in most recent Reading FC history), what's the problem eh?

One final push and we're there - are we not?

Biggest game of the season if you take Europe as the goal. With Spurs playing Arsenal we can certainly jump ahead of them.

Overall, I think Bolton at home will have too much for us and that the top 9 will probably finish as is bar Spurs skipping past Pompey for 7th.

I redid my predictions for the last games of the season on the bbc website and I predicted us 8th at the end. I think we'll draw 1-1 on sat but it could go either way.

A thrilling draw or a good loss is all I can really see us getting out of that game.

If we win, then I really cannot see why we cannot push on to Europe.

I cannot see us winning. Valiant defeat or a thrilling draw.

IMO we need 10 points from the last 4 games to get into Europe.

We can beat Bolton at the Reebok, No reason why we can't.

If we manage to qualify for Europe then there is a small chance Sidwell might stay, so we got to have a go and try and make it.

We wanna ideally keep the best midfielder that has ever worn the hoops!

A win is possible, but not enough to get Richie Bowman away from his sandwich bar I fear.....

I'd agree a win is the least likely outcome, but it's not by any means impossible. Bolton have to go to Stamford Bridge next so we could actually be ahead of them within two games. People tend to glorify Bolton, but they've scored fewer and conceded more than we have. Having said that, we could really do with Kitson and/or Doyle finding their scoring boots.

A point there would be a good result, especially since our team is weakened and we are having problems scoring.
