If it was an exciting 21 year old Michael Owen, yes, but this is the slower gambling addict type player that is a shadow of his former self.

Because it matters not to me. I tend to look at how we are going to perform not how one particular Newcastle player may play if picked.

But you can only gauge how we'll perform when you know the team were playing surly? We would perform differently against newcastle reserves than the first team. so the team were playing matters. right?

But we're talking about 1 player who is returning after a year out through injury. If we were talking about 6 or 7 first teamers returning then you might have a point.

Owen won't be anything like match fit, and his game was always about pace over 5 yards - which he won;t have at the moment. He's more likely to get a 10 minute cameo at the end i would have thought.

i await his hat trick !

What's the betting on Owen doing his Achilles while taking a piss sometime this week? More injury-prone than a very injury-prone thingy.

Not worried if he plays or not. Last year's model.

Should we be worried?

Nope, he'll come off injured after walking for five minutes.
