Dont' just jump on the Robin Friday bandwagon because he's turned in to a Reading Icon in the last few years.

Trevor Senior was an absolute legend!

(thinking about it, it's probably too late by the time you read this)

Doyle can't be in it (yet).

Harold Doyle can't be in it (yet).

Why not ?
He's been a regular for 2 seasons.
He's played at the highest level (successfully)
He's a full international.
Stacks up against any of the others....

Indeed, this isn't an RFC Legend 11. That would have very few current players in the nominations... Murty being the only possible really.

Didn't Best play for us once?

LOL at him not even getting a nomination. What a waster.

Vote Trevor!!!

Beating Robin Friday in any RFC poll would be one of his greatest achievements.

Robin Friday in the first Reading Team that I ever went to see. During and after games I used to ask my dad questions about Friday and what he thought as I wanted to know "was he that good" because as a boy I wasn't sure what I was seeing.

I now now that I was witnessing greatness so my vote went to Robin Friday. For the record I would vote Clever Trevor above Kerry Dixon for Senior was a battle scared warrior.

With the exception of this season as he was out injured for most of it - Kitson has done better in the scoring ranks than Doyle.

Daniella

Sorry but cureton and kitson need to be out of that list.

Neither are anywhere near amongst the best. Good character's and legends maybe but not "best", sorry to break the news.

Lets just see how Kits performs over the next couple of years.

TBH if he scores the winner in the FA Cup final then throw logic out of the window for he will be the best ever.

Dirk Gently
SpaceCruiser Kerry Dixon

A player from the Maurice Evans era, he was at Reading between 1980 and 1983, and scored 51 goals before moving to Chelsea for £175,000.

And how fair a description is this, when you consider the veritable essays written about some other players?

No mention of being the League's top scorer - in a relegated team - and scoring 26 goals despite being injured for over 2 months?

No mention of scoring 4 goals in a game that we lost 7-5?

No mention of being our record sale at the time, and then topping the Second Division scorers the year after leaving us, and the First Division scorers the next year?

And no mention of being a kid discovered by Reading who went on to play for England?

blah blah blah

id have doyle any day
never saw dixon play apart from for chelsea, where he was a cnut

Poll closes in 40 minutes, any more votes? Looks like Robin Friday might win this, though Trevor Senior is pushing him close.

Voting is now closed! Much closer than the attacking midfielder poll with just 4 votes separating the top two! So Robin Friday is the winner!

Team looking like this so far.....

1. Neil "Shaka" Hislop
2. Graeme Murty
3. Nick Shorey
4. Dariusz Wdowcyzk
5. Adrian Williams
6. Phil Parkinson
7. Glen Little
8. Simon Osborn
9. Robin Friday
10.
11.

The second forward poll will be up shortly.....

Can we have a subs bench? Not including Reading fans everywhere [boo], obviously.
