In a word - No.

1. The FA won't offer him the job.

2. IMO, He wouldn't accept it even if he's was offered it - he's struggled in the past with "big club media syndrome" - he was only at Man City for 35 days.

FA won't make the mistake of not getting their first choice this time around. I find it highly unlikely Coppell would be their first choice, maybe fourth or fifth at best.

He is far too intelligent to take the job.

100% definitely not. Steve has said although he'd love the job he would not be interested owing to the total cr*p that comes with it through the media and especially the press intrusion.

He might be interested in a one game caretakership but that would be his limit.

No need to worry about that - Howard WiLOLkinson will be the caretaker as per usual.

Steve has said many, many times just how much he hates the media.

He knows that any England manager is under the most intense media scrutiny in the world.

He is an intelligent man.

Work it out for yourself......

He won't get it, that much media exposure will risk the secret reason he left Man City being exposed

Get Peter Taylor in with Graham Taylor and Terry Venables in a back-up advisory capacity, I say.
