The fact that Cureton is known here will be an advantage to us. Brilliant though he was sometimes, he was very much a player that could be cut out of the game. A tactic of cutting his supplies should work: I remember how many times I was frustrated by the fact that he, and sometimes he and Butler, were left isolated due to opposition tactics.

Or just stand behind him and shout "jacks" when someone passes him the ball.

Hope the couple who sit near me make it up to see him on Saturday. Apparently it was him scoring for Reading that helped one of them through chemotherapy for cancer...though I'm sure they'll be cheering Reading on this time...well, one of them anyway.

Welcome back home Curo, hope he gets a run out, absolute legend, great goal scorer for us and I have no doubt whatsoever that he will be given a great reception by the Mad Stad crowd, after all he hasn't done anything not to get one ! loved the guy when he was here and he will always be a special part in the Reading climb to the Premiership.

Has the game on Saturday been switched ?
Or have we got a big screen at the Mad Stad ?

How else is Cureton going to get a Mad Stad welcome (unless you mean 18th April)

Speak (type) English man! Other than that, exceptional post.

Curo was the last player I remember who liked a long shot. Everyone else seems reluctant and passes to the wings. To be fair it normally works, but is a bit boring. Everyone likes a screamer now and again. Shoooooooooooooooot!

Curo was, and still is an absolute legend.

Probably still is my favourite player to play for reading. 8)

Shame the chances are he wont be back at the Mad Stad this season, seeing as we play Norwich next weekend when he's out on loan, and unless Barnsley buy him he wont be with them come April :(

Being all of 12(ish) at the time, i was literally in tears when he left

Franchise.
As far as I can see, and I don't presume to half as bright as most of the linguistic experts that enter answers to threads on here, I can't quite see where I have mentioned anywhere the date that the messiah Curo will be returning, maybe you have read a subliminal message in what I wrote, bit of an ass of a reply really.

He has true quality in the box and if we give him a chance he'll bury it. I won't forget his goal at Brentford. Everyone goes on about the importance, but what quality. Control a ball that came flying over his should before dinking it over the keeper with his second touch before it even touched the floor, under pressure from defenders.

He's not got any pace nowadays, he's useless in the air but if he gets the ball in the right areas that's what he's capable of and we have to be wary of him.

I hope we give him a good reception.

Whenever I see that goal on video I still feel an instant's anxiety that the defenders are going to get back in time to kick it away. But it was timed so beautifully and I still love seeing it drop safely in! :)

And the Brentford defender who came closest to doing just that was Ivar Ingimarrsson, just missed hooking it clear and ended up in the goal with the ball. Probably the best away day ever - until Leicester!
