AF2 Shame about the result, just miserable about the behaviour of the Reading fans really. Why cant we respect the fact the stewards have a job to do :?: No, we've all seen Green Street and have to act like twats

disgraceful behaviour by the Wheres Wally lookalike and some disgusting chants from those around him

We need less of these sorts at football tbh

huh :?:

wat have i said thats untrue :?:

:?: bloke did look like Where's Wally

if he'd complied there would have been no issue

singing songs about people earning minimum wage when they're trying to do their job is disgusting

95% of the fanbase is capable of complying with the sitting down regulations, the mongs who cant think they're hooligans

Stewards have a job to keep things calm and peaceful - some do it well and some have a power fix. Some of the Forest stewards were in the latter section and that exacerbates things which could otherwise be resolved amicably. On a similar note, and a bit late, kudos to Bristol City stewards who were in the former section.

Oh, and you'll never find me!

Evening...

Been a while since i was on here last, but living 10 minutes from the shitty ground meant i was always going to go along today.

On the game... Griffin had 1 decent-ish moment.

Thorvalsd... put him self about a fair bit, and looked up for it. Hopefully once he gets the hang of the team and they know what he can/can't get on the end of he should come good.

Like has been said, Cisse was excellent at getting the ball, just as good at giving it away again straight after.

Other than that there were good moments. My dad made the observation that they could probably have done with not going back to berkshire after wednesday and staying up here, so that they would be a little bit fresher. I think it showed that they had played a long game, and done a ton of travelling midweek.

With the steward thing, we were sat just behind the wall next to the stairs the lad was thrown down. They managed to bounce his head of both sides of the stairwell at the top, and then once more at the bottom just for good measure, the stewards calmed down a bit when someone sat near us walked down the steps and made it known to them that they were an officer of the law, and not particularly impressed with the way they were handling things.

The steward directly infront of me was encouraging everyone to complain about it, and strongly suggesting that they put it in writing to forest/the local constabulary. It's got to be bad when they aren't sticking up for their mates.

No great expectations today as Forest are the form team. First half we were blown away in part due to the central midfield combination of Cisse and Karacan which was totally ineffective and characterised by non existent tackling and aimless hoof when they had the ball which caused us problems as we were playing a high defensive line with the ball constantly coming back at us due to our own stupidity. Second half with Howard on we were able to move the ball and Forest weren't being constantly presented with the ball and surprise suprise, we looked a lot more balanced when we controlled the ball. RFC got some attacks but true to form this season we have problems scoring in a brothel. Thorvaldsson had 2 headers he should have scored but put them straight at the keeper and Howard took a poor penalty. Best football moment was watching Kebe skin Shorey and get a penalty with a red card to follow.

Piss poor stewarding at Forest with one steward making a complete c*ck of himself trying to bully an RFC supporter and eventually the stewards having to back down having created a situation that never need arisen (the power to tell people to sit down really does seem to go to a certain type of person's head).

Marks

Federici 7 no chance with the goals and made one very good save
Griffin 6 competent debut nothing special lacking match sharpness but that will come
Bertrand 6 not one of his better days but Ok
Ingi 5 poor first half where he didn't seem to know what he was doing but reallly drove the team forwards in the second half
Mills 6 not the finished article but made some timely interceptions
Cisse 2 very very poor no tackles no passes never in the game and did not pick up his player in centre midfield exposing his centre backs with every Forest attack
Karacan 4 as poor as Cisse in the first half but improved in the second half as he let Howard pass and could make runs with the ball which is his strength
Tabb 6 worked hard but nothing exceptional
Mcanuff 4 knackered after Liverpool or just having one of his I'm not really bothered days
Church 4 worked hard but lightweight and ineffective
Thorvaldsson 6 worked hard and had two decent headers looked a reasonable championship player

Subs

Howard 6 would have got a higher mark if he had put away the penalty or the other chance we had - ran the midfield for us second half and good cross for the goal
Kebe 7 good game change from the bench got the penalty and the goal and scared Forest rather than us when he had the ball
Long 5 worked hard in the short time he was on

First half performance was one of the worst yet in this sorry season. Left ourselves with far too much to do and their keeper had an inspired second half. Cisse was absolutely woeful, we met Glen Little (legend) on the train home and he described Cisse as the worst player he has ever played with.

The stewarding was absolutely ludicrous. A dozen or so stoodup at the back with 20 minutes or so left, steward goes wading into the middle of one block to tell one bloke to sit down. Bloke sticks a v-sign in his face, steward doesn't like having his authority challenged and a bit of a kerfuffle ensues....."right, you're going out", v-signer aint having it, stands his ground, Reading fans all stood up now and for the rest of the game so the stewards exacerbated the situation. They then waded in heavy-handedly, started a bit of agressive shoving but didn't get their man and retreated empty-handed. Good on the v-signer for standing up to a typical failed-bouncer masquerading as a steward, Reading fans have absolutely no reputation for trouble and their aggressive approach was righly resisted.

Yeah, I still got accused of "assault" by a steward for tapping him on the shoulder - he'll look like a right fool when the review the video evidence.
