I think that this would be a good move for all concerned. Hamer is obviously 3rd choice at best. Charlton is an excellent club for him to go to. If he goes then I hope he makes it a successful move for him.

Simon's Church we'll probably get 100k or so for him plus a decent sell on fee like we did with Henry.

I hope this is the case. I can see him doing very well eventually. I hope we have a decent sell on clause.

I think that you will find that most clubs insert sell on clauses for young players these days.

Does this mean he's going to have a stormer against us in the CC?

OS says signed, sealed and delivered. I wish him the best of luck - a good keeper but unfortunate to come through at a time when we seem to be producing a whole host of them. Decent club, Charlton, as well.

I'd just add that I'd like to see Hamer help bring Charlton back to the championship. They're one of the good clubs IMO and I'd like to see them back at what I'd say was their level.

Any clues anywhere as to how much he went for?

Be interesting to see how he fares in the League Cup.

Very good keeper! Crawley young player of the season, golden glove winner with Brentford I think it was when they won promotion (as champions?).

Good luck. I hope there's a sizable sell on clause included!

£250K for 4th choice keeper is good business

Puts Andersen in the £1M bracket, McCarthy in £2-3M and Federici at £4M IMO

Although the 33-year-old is a versatile performer it appears he is set to start the season as first-choice right-back.

I'd drop Federici a bit, what he has in experience over McCarthy he loses in McCarthy's age and potential.

£250k is excellent business for a player who, despite his quality, was sadly surplus to requirements.

Agree, feds is not in 4m territory. Shay Given just moved for less than that to Villa and despite his age which irrelevant for a keeper, I know who I'd rather.

250K for Hamer - good business.
