1974-76 - This, or one of the other kits that looks almost identical are what I associate with Reading most. I chose 74-76 as it has a collar and 76 was my year of birth.
1987-89 - My first Reading game at Elm Park was in '87 and I recall Trevor Senior and Dean Horrix scoring against Gillingham in this kit.... or maybe it was the 85-87 kit!
1995-96 - Division 1 Playoff Finals :(

Maybe in time the 106 promotion winning kit or the first ever Premiership kit will become modern classics, but I doubt it.

Blue and White hoops should be here to stay, at least as much as the club will allow. A return to proper hoops would be welcome.

Loving this

Wouldn't say it's my favourite, because it's not 'classic' but my old man has always loved this kit. Would love us to do a one season remake perhaps

Personally love Reading in a little bit of red, the 95/96 kit looked 'licious, but alltime favourite has to be

360 hoops, hooped sleeves also, round-neck, simple socks, more white than blue with red numbers and letters upon ze back, simples

Reading were in the dreadful washed-out, all-sky blue when I first started watching and it took Jack Mansell to bring back the traditional hoops, so that 69/70 kit is my favourite along with 81/82 and 94/95.

I also agree with an earlier post and we should revert to hoops all around the shirt. I hate the current one - we look like fu cking Leeds from behind.

The 94/95 was a classic kit...the year before the play off final
1977/78 was also good
1958/63 too
For me the hoops have to go all the way round...hate the last few years kits
And they have to be solid, royal blue in colour not the turgid blue of a few years ago.
Basically a simple design...a pity the club don't go back to that, QPR have stayed much more faithful...

The 92-93 kit for me. Our 1st season back in hoops. Blue hoops on a white shirt, white socks, white shorts with blue trim. It was very similar for 93-94, but i think it changed from Brooks to Pelada.

The Home kit from 84-89 was a shocker. How did we stick to that for so long?

94-95 as well, good kit. I never saw us play in it but from the link 77-78 looks like a nice kit as well.

URZZ Personally love Reading in a little bit of red, the 95/96 kit looked 'licious

My memory is appalling, what kit was this? We had an Arsenal style away red kit in 94/95 but I can't remember red again until we moved to the Madejski and that horrible rhubard and custard away kit.

Yeah, bit of a toss up for me between 94/95 and 95/96. I could go with that. There's a lot of good ones that look quite similar so hard to pick three and get any consistency. Most seem to be coming up with a similar idea though.

Any the hoops go all the way round and prefer the thin version too!

1) 69-74
2) 77-78
3) 92-93 - first new shirt I purchased though I did buy the home & away socks from the matchwinner kit
