CanaryCanary I came on here after our lacklustre nil-nil and told you that you hadn't scored because we parked the bus, and that as shown in our four previous games we were bloody good at parking the bus.

Most of you were sounding the death knell predicting your certain relegation, and I said that all you needed was a win or a little bit of luck, a winning goal off of somebodies bum or whatever, for your season to suddenly turn itself around.

Now you have gone from 2 points from the bottom to 5 points from the bottom, are out of the relegation zone, and have one game in hand on the people in 18th.

You bunch of negative oxf*rd oxf*rd. I've started to love you though, I'll love you for as long as you manage to keep Villa and that cretin Lambert in the relegation zone. If Reading get Villa relegated I'm coming to the Madjeski next season with three hundred quid, walking into a home fans pub, and putting it behind the bar.

Come on you Royals, do it for me, come on..... Think I'll adopt myself a third team for one season only.

instantly you have become my favourite oppsition fan

Nice one CanaryCanary, and thanks for explaining about Lambert in such detail. Fascinating and all too familiar....

Great win on Sunday, makes our draw against you look even better.

And its only November and we've got the rest of the season to worry about before we start patting ourselves ont he back. Man Utd is our next home game  :(

Agreed.

We were very very lucky. 1 goal from the penalty spot and the other from a set play. Everton could and should have had 2 pens.

Although I am delighted with the 3 points, it doesn't mask the fact we are still woefully out of our depth in this league. Our frailties have not disappeared and will be back for all to see in the coming games.

I am 100% convinced we will be relegated with the current squad. Would love to be proved wrong, but just can't see it. I may get slated for being negative, but I think i am being more realistic.

FAO Canary,

So you took him from Colchester without permission and Villa took him from you without permission and now you feel upset????

Could've had 2 should definitely have had 1

I haven't seen any replays of it (MOTD didn't bother to show it although that's not saying much) but watching it live from B15 there didn't appear to be any contact on Naismith and the only reaction from myself and those around me was that he should've been booked for Suarezing

Looked like minor impact from replays to me. Borderline, but you'll see them given more often than not.

You stand a much better chance of staying up if your fans show belief in the players and the manager, then you do when players can sense frustration and begin to doubt themselves.

Villa fans also believe that they will get relegated, as do Southampton fans, as do QPR fans. You can't all be right. Let's say for arguments sake you have a 75% chance of getting relegated.

If you were diagnosed with cancer and offered chemotherapy on the basis that there was a 25% chance of survival, would you use that 25% as optimism and hope? I f'in would.

Would you stand a better chance of survival with the support and encouragement of your friends and family? Or if they were saying "ah f' him, he's as good as dead, might as well get it over and done with".

There is huge potential for somebody to take offence to likening a relegation battle with terminal illness, and I apologise in advance for any offence caused, but that's the best analogy that I can offer.

I didn't even factor Sunderland and Wigan into my equation, the former have to spend well on a goalscorer in January (spend they will, 'spend well' remains to be seen), the latter can't do their houdini act ever season surely?

I do understand though, you are on the commuter belt for London, it was always going to be inevitable that a sub-section of Reading fans wouldn't be able to smile if they found an 18K Rolex on the floor.

I can only assume that you didn't read my post thoroughly, or lack reading comprehension, to reach that conclusion.

As for "upset", yes I'm devastated to have lost an increasingly predictable manager who got found out my pretty much every team that we played in the last few months of last season, one whom hasn't changed his style of play one iota at Villa (much to their detriment) to have replaced him with a man who has put us within two games of a Wembley final having just taken us on our best run in the top league since the very early nineties.

Let's get rid of this Hughton chap and bring Lambert back so that he can send all these furrigners like Bassong, Tettey and Garrido back wherever they came from and refill our team with whatever is left with the dregs of the football league, you never know we might get lucky again, just because his unrealistic philosophy isn't proving lucky this time at Vila isn't to say that it won't work at Norwich again right? Then we can return to kamakazee football, start playing Elliott Ward again, and readopt the well proven strategy of "let's concede a goal and then try to snatch a winner in extra-time for the tenth time this season", the football equivalent of shouting for your mum to come upstairs while you desperately try to finish your w*nk.

Sounds like an excellent idea, getting bored of all these clean sheets and wins against the big-four.

CanaryCanary I can't sit here and say that Wigan, Sunderland, Villa, or Southampton are any better than Reading.

I can tell you - for certain - that Wigan are, having seen them pull Reading apart second half today. Scored three, could have scored six. I'll know in the next 2 and a half weeks whether the other three are any better than us as well, chances are they will be. Thanks though for your rather misguided and somewhat condescending belief in us.
