Thaumagurist*MotownWax Jacket If Kebe counts as Malian then Lita has to be English I'm afraid.
Which is a bit of a murking for Leroy as he could've had 50 full caps by now and played in a couple of AFCONs
Does that mean that Gilkes counts as being Barbadian? As if so that another one for the list!
He played for Barbados AFTER he left us. Though I suspect his parents or grandparents came from Barbados rather than Gilkes himself.

sputnik Fairly sure that I read we had an Italian player in our pre-WW1 Southern League days.
Biscuit_Boy Max Seeburg, a German, was the first foreign player to player for us, in the pre-WW1 days.

I've found references to both these players in David Downs Biscuits & Royals. The Italian was Antonio Freezia, and Downs names him as the first foreigner to appear in Reading's colours, in the 1914-15 season. After this he then also writes that Seeburg was arrested and interned after a Reading game and released a few weeks later. Wikipedia says Seeburg was on our books 1911-12, but this could be wrong as I'm not sure Germans were being interned as early as that.

I have a team photo from 1912-13 which includes Seeburg. At the end of that season Reading toured Italy and the first game was a 4-2 win against Genoa. The Italians' two goals were scored by Attilio Fresia, after which we signed him and he became the first Italian to play football in England.
