TBM Special mention for Carrico today - thought he was superb when he came on - tackling, passing, getting forward

The man will boss the Championship next season

I'll second that, thought he looked great.

Very promising second half performance. Nobody had a bad game really.

Bet McArthy couldn't even save a back pass anyother day of the week yoday he's ******* world class how********* ridicoulos is that! I'm ********* tired of this joke!

Get that keeper ******* drug tested

A typical Liverpool performance, we're all over them for 90 mins, their keeper goes into God mode for the first time in his life and we draw 0-0 after having 25 shots on goal. Yawn.

I 100% demand this keeper gets drug tested.

We should invest heavily in the ball magnet that the reading keeper has strapped to his chest...

This was exactly the same performance that we delivered away at Swansea earlier in the season. Only on that day it finished 2-2 with an incredible performance from McCarthy.

Agree

The principle difference surely being that against Swansea we were 2-0 up and didn't take the opportunity to tighten things up and try to kill the game. Today that was never an option for us as we really needed a win.

Thought we used the ball far better today too.

ManchesterRoyals Didnt look as though we missed Ledge did it?

Only because Carrico is an improved version of him.

If im not mistaken Alex McCarthy only ever plays in God mode. (Apart from a game with Palace when he first broke into the side)

Swansea, Spurs, QPR this season have all found that out, and Everton in the cup. The boy is special

Maybe not Leigertwood specifically, but in the first half, we were crying out for someone to break up play in midfield. Karacan and Guthrie are far too lightweight.

That's because Karacan isn't good enough.

lol mccarthy has had numerous performances that are just as good as this. a couple off the top of my head: swansea game earlier this season, man city cup match. these people are obviously just butthurt about not getting the win. he has been highly rated by a great deal of pundits, managers, fans, and anyone who knows anything about football, for gods sakes if joe hart wasnt playing he would probably be england number 1 by now!

also what is the deal with the drug test thing? to me he didnt look like a drug addict...

I saw Roy Hodgson outside the ground today before the match - told him to keep an eye on McCarthy. After that performance, you never know.

That was a fantastic game - mcCarthy was brilliant and should be player of season based on the games he's played! Carrico looked a bit slow but his tackling and passing were sublime. Couldn't single out one player today for not pulling their weight. First half we looked very scared but second half was one of most enjoyable games I can remember. We didn't give up and Liverpool got rattled. Might even get something at Norwich if we can play 90 mins like the second half. Well done NA and the lads. We deserved that point. But how come those utter idiots managed to bring in flares and firecrackers? Made me jump out of my skin each time and even tho all seemed to come from same area, stewards did nothing to try and stop it. And those 'Ding dong' flags were inflammatory and ruined what should have been a respectful day for the 96.

ManchesterRoyals Well looked pretty decent at times

Lot lot better

Just wish Adkins had come sooner, maybe he would have been able to stop us from the drop

1 point in 9 wouldn't keep us up

If McCarthy was better than he was in the Swansea away game earlier this season then it must have been pretty special. I was at the Swansea game and he made some outstanding saves, we would have been thrashed if it weren't for him, even after we fluked a 2 goal lead.

Whilst having to rely on how we played today, from you guy's that saw it, there seems no doubt that Adkins is getting there with the players, we all know by now that there isnt going to be a magical overnight solution to our plight and that relegation is virtually inevitable.

It is good however to read such positive comments on how we played today and with the transfer moves in the summer, which I peersonally think there will be lots of, the future is starting to look positiive under Adkins. I don't think that anyone on this site has any bad feelings towards BMcD, it just wasn't working under him and hadn't been for most of the season, but we have all moved on now and in both cases likely for the better.

I hope the comparisons being made in the media betweet Adkins and Mcdermott, stop they do nobody any favours, I for one wasn't expecting us to win again this season, so they are pointless. I just wish they would butt out and let the new man, make his mark get his own team here, then do their comparisons

Reading boss Nigel Adkins:
"It is three games I have been in charge at Reading now and once again our attitude and application was top drawer. First 15 minutes they had good possession but our players have kept us in the game and we have had a great opportunity with Noel Hunt late on and Pepe Reina has made a great save.
It was an outstanding goalkeeper performance from Alex McCarthy. Has worked really hard to make sure we pick up a point today. It is only a one point, when we need three - we know where we are."
