Big Ern As far as fans making noise..couldn't care less. The clubs ability to attract intellectually challenged fans that sing the same boring sings every week has no bearing on the clubs success....well lack of it at the moment. Probably says something favorable about the demographic of the area that we don't have many of these fans.

As far as criticising the Madstad, then this is a stadium named best sub 25,000 capacity stadium in Europe a few years back. Would take the madstad over vicarage road any day, and even though Elm Park had a certain sentimental attachment, I dread to think where we would be as a club if we were still there. Think jealousy actually comes into it when fans criticise new stadiums.

I think a big part of it is the location, especially for the away fan who just drives in from the M4, straight into the car park.

And also, when it is subdued at the Madejski, it really is subdued. There's little enthusiasm around the place currently, and you don't get the impression many go in expectation of an enjoyable game. It doesn't really make for a great atmosphere.

Saying that I prefer silence to that dreadful "...and that's the way I like it, like it..." song they kept singing.

Some would say differently but personally I think being the inspiration for that f[u]cking song is probably the worst thing the Ultras on the continent have ever done.

All I heard was that, the bounce thing and 'that's the way we like it', 3 of the worst football chants ever.

And yet you never hear it at foreign games.

Given that jellyboy can't even spot the difference between McCleary and Murray (even when at that end of the pitch) I don't think he can really comment on whether it was a bookable offence which led to Angella being sent off!

As for newforesthorn's comment about fans streaming away with five minutes to go, he clearly wasn't at Vicarage Road when we beat them last season to witness a much larger and earlier exodus from the Watford fans.

This. Thought exactly the same myself. And Angella was all over Murray throughout the first half. His arms spent most of the first half touching Murray's stomach as they were wrapped around him so tight.

He was lucky not to pick up his first yellow earlier than he did. That push on Murray for Norwood's abysmal freekick was the most blatant and cynical foul of that nature I've seen in months. And he then had the temerity to mouth of at the ref for giving it.

Talk about marking yourself out for punishment.

He was lucky his team mates were covering for his first yellow or he'd have been straight off anyway.

For about 3000 of them supporting a team at the top end of the table they spent large periods quiet and didn't produce nearly the level of noise I'd expect from that many when they did get going.

Their only redeeming feature was not singing that god awful 'I wanna go home dirge'. What they did sing was pretty terrible though. They're like a currently successful quieter version of us with worse and fewer songs. Although there's not much in it and at least they turned up in numbers.

You think we would have made more noise if we'd gone to Watford with that many fans?

Amazes me how everyone's take on atmosphere at games is different.

For what its worth I thought we were dire apart from last 30 mins and Watford were decent throughout. (chanting / singing related)

They are generally quite impressed with our support yesterday.

I thought the Bradford fans were a decent bunch themselves. Made a lot of noise in all three stands and I found them quite friendly going to and from the ground.

So Reading fans don't beat yourselves up over our support.

Except when we take a couple of hundred to Bolton/Huddesfield

Anyone think we'll get anywhere near a sell out at the Mad Stad for the replay? Thought not....

Maybe if we offer Bradford the West and North Stands over and above their normal allocation.
