As poorly prepared as we may be, or hit by injuries, or lacking strikers, or whatever, so our opponents are equally afflicted.

Their players only put their shorts on one leg at a time too :) they're not much different from our players. So, I think we'll make a good start to the season. I'm going with a 2-1 win for the Royals.

Ian Royal 0-0 snoozefest.

I'd agree with that.
Someone else was gunning Pog again. I'll bet he's not earning as much as you think, certainly not £70k/week.
Many fans think real life is like a computer game for a footballer. They are human and have families. It's not just about the money. Maybe He likes living in Reading? His kids might be doing well at a local school, he might have made some nice friends? In which case, why would he leave?

This post annoys me. No one said he's on £70k. He lives in London. His missus likes it.

He costs that in overall fees over his contract, but it incudes his signing on fee

StaceyIsOneOfOurOwn Can't see any points for anyone but the Brummies I'm afraid.

We're not ready, strong enough and have forgotten how to win - it's a bad habit to lose and most of last season's better players have gone.

oxf*rd knows why Pog turned down more money to go back home as we needed his wages to entice others.

He doesn't give a shit about Reading but I reckon his bird loves English life - I mean have you seen her? You can eat here luv - it's not rationed!

It's not rationed there either - take a trip to St. Petersburg you might be surprised

0 - 3 Pog hat-trick !

2-1 gray and shinnie for them. Williams for us, fosu with the assist. I expect it to be a draw for the majority of the game then we carry on our worrying tradition from last season and stop defending for 5 or so minutes.

Given I don't think he's earning anything near £70k a week and have never said he was - even in the PL season, this is a bit weird. £25k - £35k maybe. Which is still twice what he's worth.

He lives in London and earns an obscene amount of money (upwards of £1m a year, probably closer to £1.5m or more) forgive me if my sympathy levels are zero. If it's not just about the money, why don't they stop demanding ever increasingly humongous salaries? Oh no, they might have to get another job in their 30s and 40s. Boo hoo.

Early doors red card for a Reading player. Danny Williams picks up a knock.

Why don't all of the clubs stop paying humongous salaries? Can't blame the players for asking when they know the money is available in the game.

Three bad guys: Hill, Bosman but above all Murdoch!
