tidus_mi2 4-1, I'm afraid is not acceptable, I can't disregard our recent good form but we can't keep getting tonked away from home, 2 more wins than defeats and a -3 goal difference says it all really.

Well its only happened twice but I agree, 4-1 not good. Just when I thought the scoreline was going to be more respectable. Best just to treat this game as another learning experience and move on from it.

We're the only side in the top half with a negative goal difference. Still though, points are more important and there's a lot of sides in the bottom half that would happily trade places with us.

And they certainly will be.

Oh well. Another learning curve. As someone has suggested on the radio; It will serve as another wake up call. We go again Saturday. Then beat the fake hoops after the break and we will all be cheery again.

Poor management as well in not bringing subs on until far too late to influence anything.

Lets hope we can recover sufficiently to avoid an embarrassment on Saturday, could you imagine losing with Blackman and/or Vydra scoring........

So, 10 games in the table has meaning. We're currently sitting higher than most of us expected, and achieving Stam's stretch goal of being in the top 10.

We're not the promotion contenders some got a little excited we might be after an early good run of results. We're well placed for a decent season building a team and ethos, ready for a big push next year. We've a few holes in the squad that are lacking a little quality and a lot of players to bed in. 7th - 14th (and more than 8 wins at home) preferably towards the top of that and finishing fairly well rather than with a deflated whimper and this will have been an excellent season.

On the train back from the game.

First half wasn't bad at all. Second half was shocking however. Couldn't string two passes.

Sat in with the Brentford so got a good look at Obita tonight and he was very poor.

That added to nothing up front means it's a hard evening.

In patches we looked good. Never a 2-0 at half time game apart from not converting chances.

Flashes of good stuff. Welcome back GMAc and Blackett and go again.

On the way back from the game now.

First half we were solid and matched a good Brentford side - if Evans header has gone in 2 mins before they scored it'd clearly have been a very different game.

Second half the crispness in the passing seemed to disappear - and a couple of players - notably Obita who's actually had a good first half - seemed to lose their confidence

Most disappointing thing was that we didn't kick on when we got it back to 3-1. Seemed to run out of steam very quickly just when they were beginning to wobble

To be fair though, they are a decent team on their own patch. They managed the game and put away their chances.

We're clearly a bit away from play off contenders (but then everyone knew that anyway) but there were positive signs in the 1st half

5 subs on the bench, Stam decided to send them out with less than 5 mins remaining. 2 strikers on the bench Yann is struggling. Playing as an extra man in midfield looked knackered. Still no change. What is the point of having a squad if u don't utilise it. It's going to be interesting what Team he shows for DERBY.
