We're leaving the annual points deduction a bit late this season.

Shrewsbury postponement confirmed. A welcome week off, but does create a run of 5 games in little over 2 weeks.

Looking at the remaining fixtures between the teams above us competing for the Play Offs, this could still swing massively.

Reading

Wycombe (H) - 5th April

Huddersfield

Charlton (A) - 29th March
Wycombe (H) - 8th April
Stockport (A) - 21st April

Bolton

Stockport (H) 15th March
Wycombe (H) 18th April

Stockport

Bolton (A) 15th March
Wrexham (A) 22nd March
Huddersfield (H) 21st April
Wycombe (A) 3rd May

Charlton

Huddersfield (H) 29th March
Wycombe (A) 21st April
Wrexham (A) 26th April

Wrexham

Wycombe (A) 15th March
Stockport (H) 22nd March
Charlton (H) 26th April

Wycombe

Wrexham (H) 15th March
Reading (A) 5th April
Huddersfield (A) 8th April
Bolton (A) 18th April
Charlton (H) 21st April
Stockport (A) 3rd May

Wycombe and Stockport look like the teams to catch.

Wycombe have a bit of the proverbial run in from hell, got Wrexham at home on Saturday and an awkward last day visit to Orient too!

3 Wycombe 75 (6 games left)
4 Stockport 74 (5)
5 Charlton 73 (5)

Reading are effectively playing for 6th - which of the above teams do we want in the PO Semi and who do we want in the Final?

Ideally we'd avoid Stockport so Wycombe (SF) and Charlton (F)

Even Stockport in the final I can take as it's just one game and a question of who can handle the occasion. It's Stockport over 2 legs I dread.

Sadly with Stockport's current form coupled with Wycombe's run in I can see them nicking third so we'd get them in the semi....

Just a different way to lose another set of play offs…. :?

But then didn’t most want to avoid Fulham in 2017?

If Reading made it to 6th and into the Playoffs, I'd back us for the win.

For the simple fact that EVERYTHING has been against us. It seems unfathomable already and this just seems like the last bit to complete the craziest season in our history for a long time (rivalling 106 but for very different reasons).

If the club survives and we finish 7th or 8th, these players and staff will already be looked back on as giants in our history. They have fought against all the odds to bring happiness and a positive focal point in our darkest hour, and helped the club appeal to investors. The amount of times they have bought positivity back after a dreadful week off the pitch is remarkable. If they finished 6th and won the play offs I don't know where it would leave them in our history.

Obviously 05/06, 06/07 and 11/12 were objectively better teams, but that's not the only measure of club legends. If we have better times in the future, it will be built upon what these guys have done. And it would be a huge shame if in a few weeks it all turns out to have been for nothing.

Agree completely and the more I see of them and Noel, the club as a whole, the more I think "this club can't possibly end"

Realistically its Bolton Reading or Huddersfield for the final play off spot

Similar run ins, but I think Bolton are probably just favourites

Unless there's a nothing to play for reaction from some mid table teams

Bolton's next 4.....Rotherham H, Barnsley A, Wycombe H & Lincoln A.....none easy and think we have the easiest run in (on paper).

As said above, a lot depends on how much the mid table sides turn up.

Across the last games, all we need is one result better than Bolton's and to match Huddersfield's and we get 6th.

According to the Northampton Chronicle a "Supercomputer" has predicted the final League One table
....
6. Bolton Wanderers
74 pts (+4)
7. Huddersfield Town
73 pts (+16)
8. Reading
73 pts (+8)
....

Even if its just random guy at the Chronicle offices in Northampton it just shows its pretty close

Assuming we get to the final game of the season (home vs Barnsley), it could be a really nerve-racking day. If we finish 7th I hope we do another pitch invasion, with fans thinking we've secured the last play off spot.

I suspect Huddersfield will drift away with their current form and it will be a straight race between ourselves and Bolton.

Huddersfield look to have the hardest run-in. Couple of stinkers in there. Bolton and Huddersfield both have three matches at home, compared to our two. Think if we can better Bolton's return from tonight's and Saturday's matches we'll pip 'em.

Bolton
Rotherham (H)
Barnsley (A)
Wycombe (H)
Lincoln (A)
Peterborough (A)
Stevenage (H)

Reading
Shrewsbury (A)
Northampton (A)
Lincoln (H)
Mansfield (A)
Bristol Rovers (A)
Barnsley (H)

Huddersfield
Wycombe (H)
Burton (A)
Cambridge United (H)
Stockport (A)
Exeter City (A)
Leyton Orient (H)

Ironically, Wycombe can do us a massive favour here....................
