Mr Angry Are we allowed to actually buy players now? Have all of the embargoes been lifted?

Yes and yes! No FL club is currently embargoed.

First priority is keeping the out of contract players we want to keep who also want to stay, then see what gaps need to be filled.

Assuming we keep everyone, we need a replacement for Tyler Bindon and I think we may want to replace Sam Smith as I think we may have scraped into the playoffs if he was still with us.

Couhig can't get rid of him after that.

Noel is not in any danger of getting the sack.

I saw this earlier and loved it. This may be just my interpretation, but the club's social media just seems so much more free and joyful now. The ownership saga was no doubt like a crushing weight on them, probably in both direct orders and instructions but also just the day-to-day of having the situation going on and endless fans moaning at them.

Regarding Hunt - I loved the comments. Things like "what you've done won't be forgotten" and "do you hear the fans out there?" are exactly what we want. Real pride, fan-player-club connection again, a manager who understands the club as he does.

Loved the message, needs some work to compare to McDermott's delivery.

Good job Noel. Love it.

Really can't get my head around our fans that celebrate the news of Selles getting sacked. His time with us with the circumstances was nothing short of top drawer, leaving us in a PO position and sacrificing his own wages. For me, it is a shame he never got given time there to succeed and hope he goes on to get another job to flourish in.

What is the difference between Selles and Bindon leaving? Would fans celebrate if Bindon doesn't succeed? I don't see a difference, both young and plying their trade - both done a brilliant job for us. So would those celebrating Selles getting sacked celebrate Bindon not succeeding? Of course not.

That is bloody crazy!

He kept them up; wasn't that the brief??

I am truly amazed; presumably they are lining up a counter-offer for Ancelotti to get him in now?

Mental.

It honestly enrages me to see fans gleefully celebrating Hull losing, or laughing at Selles, and now enjoying him being sacked. He was highly respected, even having a huge bloody flag thing with The King printed on it in Spanish. He left in very fair circumstances in my view, he was completely sick of waiting for the ownership saga to be resolved. I feel he conducted himself very well, and everyone has a breaking point.

It's really sad to see him lose his job. I believe their form under him, puts them at 12th in the league. He also saved them from going down. How much more can you do? It's ridiculous and I am sick of seeing clubs treat managers like this.

This thread isn’t about Selles.

Also, nothing wrong with celebrating the massive.wedge he just got for 6 months work.

Even moreso because you just know he's going to end up at a rival league 1 club like Wycombe or Bristol rovers and end up kicking our arses.

Hull was not the right club to go to. You could see that from how they sacked Rosenior, absolute joke. Their chairman is another basket case, I can't help but feel he jumped to the wrong club.

Whilst there is no need for the new Management to make a public show of support to Noel (he has another Year of his contract left IIRC), I think it would be a nice gesture for them to do so.

Just how and why is anyone surprised?! Selles knew the risks and the territory. He kept them up and did wonders with us. He has two big ticks on his CV. Football is a merciless game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hunt is replaced. SJM "surprisingly" binned Evans for Branfoot in 1991 after taking over from Smee.

And then Branfoot went on to win the Simod Cup in 1988 three years before he was appointed.

Which shows just how good he was.

In other news, I now realise I am older than Ian Porterfield will ever be

Random fact someone told me the other day, Kula Shaker's lead singer is married to Ian Branfoot's daughter.

This is true, Crispian Mills married Josephine Branfoot in 1995. Wonder if their sons are Reading fans?

The last thing we need is to change manager. We're now at the point of real stability being a possibility. We ended the season in a fantastic place, both the morale around the club, the atmosphere, the positivity. It felt almost like we'd won something (our club back?). You often see clubs going into the next season riding on that same wave.

It's the summer break now. Hunt has years of experience with the club, and a good chunk of time as first team manager. He'll know what gaps he wants to fix, what players to keep, his team around him will know too.

I'd hate to see him go, and some other guy come in who we've never "met". Hunt also has experienced the absolute sh*t show over the last few years, that goes a long way for me. He understands the fans.

He also deserves a chance to keep this going under better conditions and a level playing field - something we've not had for years now due to embargos and ownership issues.
