Utterly dreadful coverage on Berks, you’d think they’d have a reporter at the game

0-0 is the very latest, should imagine it’s just finishing.

Finished 0-0

Watched a bit of the first half, played decent enough. Garcia main threat by a mile. Burns and o Connor looked solid

Didn’t watch any of the second

Watched it all. Garcia stand out going forwards in the first half, Defence did ok both halves. Thought both the triallists did well and Ryan always seems to impress. Tuma did ok and looks pacy. Early days and you cannot read much into pre season but it seems to me the squad building is going well.

On the downside no Knibbs or Ehib is a concern. Are they off? And Rushesa, Jacob and Kanu all missing - so perhaps we already have some injuries.

Watched the game on Royals TV, thought we looked pretty solid first half with them coming closest with a header against the bar. Second half was a bit of a borefest due to 11 changes from each side. Fair result overall.
Both our keepers didn't have much to do so hard to judge really. Our biggest task this preseason was to rebuild the defense and in Burns and O'Connor we have to big units who both seem good on the ball especially Burns, I thought Ryan did better than Dorsett on the left and with time should make that spot his own. Abrefa did ok and did his replacement Ashqar. The midfield did ok, nothing special but kept the ball well. Will only get better with more game time and Elliot getting back into the team.
Camara was Camara on the wing! neat and tidy with zero end product or ability to take on his man. The right side was a whole difference thing with Garcia willing to run and take on the defense often cutting inside to good effect, MOM for me. Up top, the Irish lad struggled to get into the game from what i remember and Tuma looked a bigger threat when he came on however, i think Tuma is more of a wide player and would be a much better option than Camara.
In the second half i thought Stickland looked solid, Osho seemed a threat on the right. Overall a good workout in crazy temperatures, Gillingham had a decent spell early on in the first half other than that they were pretty poor.
PS nearly forgot the trialists, so the guy in defense looked pretty good and got into the game lots with some good tackles and a willingness to play out of defense and an eye for a pass. Would give a few more games but a yes for me. The Midfield guy did ok, not in the game as much but nothing wrong at all, so worth another look. :D

Could anyone please translate Hunty's injury update on Royals TV. I got that someone is returning to training on Monday and someone else has got a knee injury but i genuinely couldn't make out which players he was talking about.

Knibbs has some strapping on his knee according to observant fans on twitter, could be him.

It was Yiadom, Hunt said he had a bit of swelling. I ask Yiadom at Bearwood yesterday & he said he was fine, it was just precautionary.

Watched the game on Royals TV

O'Connor and Burns look good, but vulnerable to pace in behind. Neither is quick.

Savage and Wing controlled the game well in midfield first half. O'Mahoney looked like he's good to hold the ball up and come short, but never got close to a sniff of goal. We are utterly bereft of goal threat or creativity at the moment, with Camara struggling to be bang average and Garcia looking lively but creating nothing with it.

Abrefa looked a bit... heavy... stocky, maybe.

Trialist A in defence was ok, but iffy at times. Stickland did fine. Midfield fell apart when Savage and Wing went off and all quality went with them. Trialist B looked tidy without doing a lot.

Tuma kept running into people rather than going round. Them. Ryan looked ok.

Big worry was where were Yids, Elliott, Knibbs, Jacobs and Rushesha? And of course that we have a single forward of L1 standard in the squad currently. 2 if you count Knibbs who is awol.
