The 2 most popular chants @ Didcot tonight were,

He'll shoot, he'll score,
He'll eat your labrador,
Seol Ki Hyeon,
Seol Ki Hyeon.

+

Singing I-i-ippy Seol Ki Hyeon,
Singing I-i-ippy Seol Ki Hyeon,
Singing I-i-ippy, his dad owns a chippy,
I-i-ippy Seol Ki Hyeon

Racial stereotyping mate.
Not exactly warm, welcoming and open is it?

But he's already said that he likes eating dogs, I fail to see the problem here.

Maybe the song about his Dad owning a chippy has some racial tendencies to it, but all in all I think it's light hearted.

I personally can't wait for the SROT boys to be sat next to me singing any of those. I'm not sure what's going to worse. Tilehurst Toddler group to the right or the whinging git in front. Happy days. :?

Forbury Lion A guy who sits near me got a lifetime ban after singing a song about dog eating as Soel warmed up on the sidelines. RFC classsed dog eating songs as racism.

I understand the fan in question is going to be allowed back this season on a special licence, but he missed out all the remaining games last season at home.

Think before you chant, It's not worth it.

I know this isn't a popular point of view but whilst I understand that dogs are eaten in Korea I also fully understand that the comments made on this thread are not motivated by a desire to educate and inform regarding the customs of our newest signing. They are offensive and ought not to be afforded the publicity they are currently getting. Probably a voice in the wilderness but I'd like to request this thread is locked or deleted.

his quote was "I like dogs, I don't eat them"
http://www.givemefootball.com/display.c ... 727&type=1

Maybe he'll find it funny. Maybe he'll be immensely bored with yet another "dog eating joke". Who knows?

Hmmm... Some folks get a bit over-excited by the idea of 'eating dogs'. They're not served up whole like a Sunday roast or anything, it's just a few stringy pieces of meat in a big spicy stew/soup.

unless someone has pointed it out already, people should also bear in mind that Seol is pronounced "Sull", not "Soul".
