rhroyal Would be happy enough if it was true, but does anybody have evidence to support this claim?

The local media are reacting as if something like this is definitely happening.

BBCRB spoke to BM this morning and he said it was a non-story. :|

Well he would, wouldn't he? But certainly at least one local radio station is doing pre-records to be ready if an announcement happens.

As I said on the first or second page it's very doubtful that this will happen until SJM gets back from Barbados on Wednesday...

Any traction unit analogies for McDermotts style of management yet Foch?

I will get onto it Jeff 8)

Rodgers - the APT. A supposedly world class model bringing in a new generation of workhorse, turned out to be a failure, now confined to the depths of time.

McDermott - the Great Western 2800. A solid, workmanlike and powerful unit, lacking in speed and finesse.

Glad we avoided Stoke in the Cup draw.
I would liken Tony Pulis to a Caterpiller Tractor working an open cast Welsh mine.

I would say that McDermott is very much like a class 40. Very popular, ended their working career in the 80's, workmanlike, and looks great 8)

The contrast between the retard and Uncle Fester could not be wider. The whole demeanour of BM exudes class and intelligence. Interviews conducted with modesty and honesty. More of this please.

He also shares my sense of humour completely. I like him, just need the results in the league now.

and that makes a good manager does it?

How many of the worlds top managers come across well to the media, like a proper honest genuine guy? Wenger, Ferguson, Mourinho, Anchelotti etc

I too like BM but i fear his popular nice guy approach won't quite be enough in a relegation battle

I don't know. I never warmed to Rodgers, but I am left wondering how people would have reacted to him saying some of things Brian said this weekend about how this is his time, he should be given the job, he's effectively earnt it through time served, etc. This from a man who has taken us into the bottom three, and two wins adrift of the safety zone. Now, I don't mind all that talk, it reflects his confidence, but to say there's a big contrast between that and some of Rodgers's bluster is stretching it a bit in my opinion. The main difference is Brian is plain-talking whereas Brendan couched his words in irritating management-speak.

I didn't know if the players were good enough under Rodgers - just wish that he came to us with a bit more savvy and experience.
I now think the players are good enough under McDermott.

Good luck.

IMHO, the crap that spewed out of the retard's mouth was embarrassing. Worse, he was turning the club into a joke. Give me level headedness any day of the week thank you very much. No more world class total football nonsense. If he gets appointed which appears more and more likely, results must improve.

Well before extra time in the Liverpool game when McDermott was speaking to the players on the pitch, the pitch side commentator said he was using "old fashioned language", which I'd say is a pretty good indicator.

I agree with you on that front. Saying that, Pardew used to spout a hell of shit, the difference was i suppose that he backed up that sponsored bullshit with results
