T.R.O.L.I.Schards#2 Which leads me to believe that if their was not likely to be a points deduction, the decision would be given today.
I still believe relegation to Div 1 remains a possibility with Sheff Utd staying up and, possibly, only two being relegated from the Prem, hence the fact that the play offs aren't being delayed.
Agree with this - and also the point someone made (possibly RL) about QPR appealing and the punishment being reduced to "no promotion" rather than releagtion. Would thus save the 3rd from bottom team in the PL rather than 3rd from bottom team in the NPC.
How could a team in a league that's not been affected by QPR's 'cheating' benefit from their punishment? No chance that a PL team will be saved because of something a Championship club have done. IF they are found guilty and they decide that they should not be rewarded for their sins by being promoted to the Premier League, then the only solution is that another Championship club gets promoted in their place. This will be EITHER 3rd place automatically and then 7th allowed into the play-off's (not likely as they aren't delaying the play-off's) OR the winners AND the losers of the play-off final both get promoted (assuming the punishment isn't announced until after the play-off final then the loser will later be notified of their promotion, as happened to Sunderland when Swindon weren't allowed up).
