Or, I'm not walking away from a contract and lots of money I can legally enforce being paid if I stay.

99.9% of managers don't resign. This is meaningless.

We’d probably get an extra -3 points for not paying his pay off in time

Who would fire him? Dai clearly doesn't give a shit, and Bowen has been boasting Selles is the Real Deal.....so he won't.

Literally anyone about 4 weeks after the fans have universally lost patience and the team have been on an extended bad run, looking at potential relegation, and someone is looking for an escapegoat, distraction and a roll of the dice. Same as always.

Wish that same logic applied to Paul Ince last season.

If we get new owners do we think they will want Selles out?

Hopefully not straightsway. We need stability.

I'm not a fan of Selles yet, but he's certainly doing some things right, and everyone deserves a decent chance to prove what they can do.

I hope he’s given a chance. I like what he’s trying to do and Bowen and Carey have recruited players to fit the style of football he wants to play.

I would like to see him given at least 2 years to see if he can get us challenging for promotion in this league. I’m right behind him and our young squad, but accept that it’s a results driven business and new owners might want instant success.

The wrong sort of owners might.

But you take what you get and hope thanks to Dai.

They sacked Maldini as DoF at AC Milan which is a bold way to make an impression.

I’d really hope not

I like Selles, seems really committed and has made us good to watch again.

Him, Bowen and the recruitment team seem to be seeing things the same way so would rather give them a proper chance to progress the club

Allegedly because he demanded money for expebsive senior players for quick success and they wanted to build a young team.

Which is actually a good approach as far as we're concerned.

I agree. Just saying they have a ruthless streak you'd expect from US private equity investors. I think Bowen, Selles and the footballing staff are doing an excellent job in really difficult circumstances, but if they don't align with the owners' vision you can expect changes and quickly.

Unless you are able to come in and blow a fortune to try to get to the prem - which is getting increasingly expensive and difficult to do - surely the best way to increase the the value of the club is to invest in the youth and hope you find a Bellingham, Olise etc

Which is why I think our approach is correct

karbota Wrexham now 4th in Division 2, it would have been so different if we had Parky.

With the smallest budget in the whole world ... he is truly a magician, unlike Selles who was given unlimited resources to get us promoted.

RedBird, if it is to be they, do seem to share this approach i.e. invest in quality youth (or youth with the potential to play higher) and use the proceeds from sales to push the club forward - they are a Capital Investment company at the end of the day so will be looking for returns over a defined period i.e. 5-7 years so whilst they would speculate a little, they aren't going to go crazy. In many ways, them coming in (hopefully) at a time when we cannot spend on fees and we have a structure in place in Bowen/Carey, who seem able to find and attract young talent without a fee and a coach who trusts youth implicitly, - seems a pretty damn good fit.
