Sources close to Fortress tell it rather differently. Samuelson, along with a couple of former partners, has a long history of managing money in offshore tax havens - he has addresses in Bermuda, Gibraltar and Geneva - and he operated for several years on behalf of Menatep, Khodorkovsky's holding company. When Kenwright made contact with him, via the players' agent Jerome Anderson, Samuelson did reach into his Russian contact book. The sources claim he was indeed talking to Boris Zingarevich, hence Anton's interest, but when the stories emerged about his potential involvement, Zingarevich withdrew because he is extremely averse to the publicity.
Whichever version is correct, it seems Zingarevich's money is not coming to Goodison. However, Samuelson is said to have looked elsewhere, and be close to securing the £30m from a clutch of investors, as yet unnamed. Fortress sources have even come up with the surprising news that Samuelson is a longstanding Everton fan, for whom this is "more than business".

Never been anything worthwhile amongst all the trivia, slagging off and arguments I felt was worth posting about.
But as I'm not welcome I'll go back to lurking. Byeeeee.
And if you want positivity, that's fine. I'll leave you with a nice, positive story.

A good summary account of what what happened at Everton.
Looks like Chris Samuelson made lots of promises which the Everton Chairman believed (in good faith), but what was promised never materialised.

Zingarevich Jr. is believed to be a Zenit St Petersburg supporter. Speaking to Fontanka.ru (a St Pete based media outlet) the Russian stressed he aims to create “a profound outfit” at Reading.
When asked which team he would support if Reading met Zenit in a European competition, he noted: “You won’t confuse me. If the clubs meet each other then the TSI investors have made a good choice supporting my business plan.”

retro royal "I was asked to find a very rich investor with a real love of football, and ideal for the Toffees, by Bill Kenwright. I did within two weeks of the original request, and not just once. The first one was perfect but he hates publicity and when it came he had to withdraw. He promised to return but did not. The second one died very quickly having been diagnosed with cancer.
