LoyalRoyal22 Did Alex Pearce get player of the season last year?

oh

This is the same set of fans that made Stephen Hunt player of the season ahead of Marcus Hahnemann.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that Leigertwood was our best player last season, but he was the year before, and he consistently performed well for us for two years in the Championship. In fact, last season he was the envy of a lot of other clubs in our league. This year he's been shown up because he can't dribble into a bit of space and lay the ball off for a winger because the opposition are too good at pressing, but he still has a role to play and until we sign an alternative he should be in the XI.

I really hope he can recapture some of his form, but we've been too loyal to out-of-form players in the past and I don't want that mistake to be made again.

People missing my point about Leigertwood. Just saying that perhaps you should have a bit more respect for the guy and not call him a donkey and a pcunt because he's a bit out of his depth in this division. Not sure why I expect anything else though.

I couldn't help noticing on Saturday morning that Pog's pre match routine included having a croissant on the same plate as egg and bacon when he took a late breakfast on the table near me in the hotel. Could be a superstitious thing but might be worth trying it again. If it works for him, what the hell.

Royal91 Reading had some nice triangles going today until that useless donkey L,wood got on the ball.

McAnuff needs to shoot more and the so does the team.

Realistically Reading will probably get in 2 premier league old heads and a hungry championship player.

Priority is a replacement for L,wood or a specialist CAM. I would be inclined to go for a CAM and drop Guthrie into L,wood's role. He can tackle and has the obvious passing ability. He would lose the aerial battles though which would be a concern.

We need another striker with pace

And a versatile defender.

Whatever you think about Leigertwood's ability, let's not forget he was the player who scored the goal that got us promoted, so when people on here call him things like a useless donkey or fukking shit, I think it's more than a little disrespectful.

I agree it's wrong to say he's a shit donkey just because he's having a bad season and isn't good enough for the Premier League. But at the same time just because he was a very important and good player for us in the last couple of years in a lower league, doesn't mean we should ignore his deficiencies this season. The same as McDermott, I don't want to see our players getting unpleasant abuse, but I do expect them to get criticised when they're doing a bad job.

think shit, and donkey qualify dont they?
in which case, its a bit of a pointless reply

good result, great performance, and a blissfully dull game
just what ive been asking for as a xmas pressie

fed, pearce, mariappa, karacan, kebe all incredibly good, vast energy reserves, all 8 out of ten
thought gunter was a much improved7/10, and all the rest were solid 6/10s, including ledge, who broke things up well, and only had a few nightmare passes
nice to see a team who was more long ball than us, and nice to see us at least attempt to play the ball around.
good to see guthrie back, a small improvement on the last game, and hopefully with a few more games in this formation he can only improve.
loved seeing how riled kebe gets all those west ham players too.

Not at stupid as when they voted for James Harper ahead of Nicky Forster.

Ok so great, you dont think Pearce should of got player of the season. But the majority including myself thought he should.

I like Ledge, but he is out his depth and needs to replaced ASAP

Where did he say Pearce didn't deserve it? He just gave you an example of a bad choice for player of the season.

Yeh but he is suggesting pearce shouldn't have got the award, because Hunt once got it which takes away its credibility

No, I'm saying that determining who our best player was by who a majority of fans thought it was, is not a good idea. In fact, appeals to majority generally are bad ideas, because if HNA shows us anything it is that most people are clueless.

I was torn between Pearce and Gorkss last season, ended up voting for Gorkss, Pearce was a worthy winner. Karacan's selection for second place ahead of Legs and Gorkss was criminal though.

Oh and I agree with southbank about slinging mud at players who have done well for us like Legs, Gorkss, Feds and McAnuff.

It might not been the most prettiest of performances or game, but we got the win. I felt that we were much stronger defensively then before, and there were the effort and which was better. Ledge was the low point of the game for me, as he gave the ball away too often.
