Exactly Ian, they had to sell the spine of the team, to keep the club afloat. McAnuff had come to the end of his time. And let's be honest the other three have done sod all elsewhere, except earn more money.

An analogy: Playing for RFC must be like working in the Civil Service at this moment in time.
The senior managers have introduced austerity measures and the ship is sinking. Wage cuts and job losses on the horizon impact on working morale. People get asked to over-perform in pointless situations, while lazy members of staff continue to be employed and get away with doing nothing because weak managers are afraid of dealing with them.

The RFC board have to introduce austerity measures and the club is sinking (3 years successive decline). Players are clearly on wages that are too high and need to be cut - therefore, players are likely to be released as soon as possible. Those with a future at the club are disillusioned. Some players are either never picked or asked to play through injuries while other players who are inconsistent but on a higher wage get picked regardless (probably because of club policies to justify paying them the high wages).

Where will it stop?

blueroyals We have a squad of ~25 players where only ~5 are worth keeping. We will not shift 20 players in the summer. It will take 2-3 years to be rid of all of this drek. There is no point pissing away £1m/season to sack a manager when it doesn't solve the fundamental problem: the players aren't good enough.

Why does everyone keep saying this

They're the same players who finished 7th last season bar 2, who only played half the games anyway.

Bar 4 - McCarthy, ALF, Morro, McAnuff.

And McCleary simply isn't the same player. That's half a team, which already had problems.

Morro and ALF only played half the season
McAnuff was on his last legs
Feds is just as good as McCarthy

McCarthy is a better goalkeeper than Feds but there's probably only about 5 points a season in it.

Morrison missed half the season through injury but that's still something, if we'd had him for the first half of the season instead of Hector and Cooper then we'd probably have benefited.

McAnuff was very good last season, particularly in partnership with Obita.

Le Fondre played 38 matches and scored 15 goals.

We've also lost Guthrie and had to deal with long periods of injury to McCleary and Williams. We didn't have Chris Baird providing cover for three months either.

Oh, and no Drenthe...

Someone asking for Rodgers back on the radio.

Fcuk off some of our fans are fcuking stupid. The mighty Rodgers who spent £200m on sh1t & just lost to Hull.

Mick is on the money now talking about recruitment. They need to sort their fcuking sh1t out.

Just correcting you.

And whether McAnuff was on his last legs or not, he was still twice the player Robson-Kanu is.

Clarke showing the pressure in his post match interview. He lost it

He sounds desperate, had a little pop at Dellor too.

I think we've really missed Jobi. As well as losing his ability I think it's had an impact on Obita's performance this season. Last year they combined well down the left & Jobi was able to cover if Jordan bombed forward on the overlap. How many decent crosses from the left have we seen this season? No Jobi has meant HRK starting regularly with only Blackman for competition. Would you have the confidence to bomb forward with HRK disappearing into the middle randomly instead of supporting/covering/giving an option?

Well if the BBCRB lot thought it was genuine, it must have been!
