You'd have to assume that Schards was posting those to confirm that he'd got it wrong.

Not sure why he added the 'RL' emoticon afterwards though.

Perhaps he's been writing RL's views, which he fervently disagrees with, all along. In a flash of the mother of all Ironies, he posts links which actually destroys RL's arguments in the pretence that he is supporting them. To underline the irony, he uses the 'RL emotocon'.

Brilliant!!

LOL @ two grown adults pretending Madejski doesn't want to sell the club.

When you're alone, do you pretend we're in the Champions League as well?

There seems to be an inverse correlation between the quality of Reading's performances and the level of denial demonstrated on this thread.

Hampshire Royal Nope, nothing about desperation - plenty abou ambition and wantin g the club to do well - but nothing about desperation.

Still second in the League, by the way.

I wish you wouldn't keep saying that HR as it's tempting fate.
Second in February means not very much and is a statement of history (your area of expertise)-please say you have that crystal ball which also says second in May.

Nobody ever said that JM won't sell the club - he has said it often enough. he has also said that he will only sell to the right buyer. A long way from saying that he is 'desperate' to sell.

You woul do better in arguments if you actually stuck a bit closer to the truth. You would possibly get a bit more respect on here if you just stopped making outrageous statements and then, in an effort to support them, made even more outrageous and blatantly untrue, statements.

OK, maybe we have had a few disappointing performances this season, but we are still second in the League and looking a good bet for promotion. Sorry for repeating myself and stating the bleedin' obvious.

So, now you've stepped into the real world, a chairman who wants to sell and does not want to make the necessary investment into the team to compete in the premiership, you don't see how that may hamper future progress?

If Coppell chooses to leave, do you see how that may hamper progress? Only the opinion of many close to the club seems to be that that is a real possibility. So if he does, will that hamper progress IYHO?

Odd how Schards makes a point which is specifically addressed by others and then comes back with a changed argument which ignores the points made - and he does it EVERY time !!

It's classroom stuff Schards, very poor of you to play the 'grown adults' card and rather self defeating !

Well colour me relieved.

You claim that JM is 'desperate' to sell, and your attempt to show this does nothing of the sort.

When that is disputed you change your approach to suggesting that people were denying he wanted to sell, which is a stupid thing to claim.

It's a tactic you use constantly - make a claim which is wrong, poorly phrased or exaggerated and then when it is knocked down move the goalposts in an attempt to salvage your case.

Sorry Platypuss, just expressing my optimistic support for the team which has been a part of my life for nearly 42 years. Sorry oif I find it difficult to express 'clever' cynical sentiments. I leave that to the 'experts'.

If I were you, i'd be saying "classroom stuff? I was not in a classroom when I made this point therefore you are wrong, it is not technically classroom stuff" but I wouldn't be so dull.

Madejski talks about wanting to sell at every opportunity, whether he's keen to sell, desperate to sell, would be chuffed to sell, would be tickled pink to sell, it's all just boring semantics and has no bearing on our prospects. However you choose to phrase it, the reality is it hampers the prospects of progress.

It would be rather more interesting if you addressed this point rather than indulging on you trademark boring nit picking.

Madejski has been talking about selling for years.

Before 05-06

Before we played in the Premiership

Before Coppell was at the club

So how does talking about it now change anything ? He's clearly not desperate to sell. If he was he would have sold. There is no evidence at all that JM is restricting our progress. Considering we've progressed during the life of this thread your point is self defeated....

And you are a fine one to talk about 'semantics' given your entire contribution to HNA consists of word play and wriggling out of situations by twisting comments !!!

One day I'm sure you'll actually engage in discussion rather than preaching.

Lux

You'll have to explain.

My interest is the same as others - long standing Royals fan.

''Inside'' Info ? Don't think I've posted anything that could be classed as that.

At the age of 67, aftyer 17 years in a highly-pressurised second job, JM has said many times that he will only sell if the 'right buyer' makes the right offer. Isn't this the same as saying 'If the right offer from the right buyer doesn't come along, I do not want to sell.'?

It is a damned good disguise if you are tho. do you hide the bentley under the hostas?

If JM had any ambitions he would be looking to extend the stadium, and spend loads on the team, cos we really need both don't we?
