morganb Wycombe could have quite an influence on the play offs as they play -

Bolton A
Charlton H
Leyton Orient A
Stockport H

Plus they are still fighting for 2nd

Horrible run in. Wrexham will fancy 2nd.

From Despair To Where? Remaining fixtures

Reading

Lincoln (12th) H
Mansfield (18th) A
Bristol R (21st) A
Barnsley (11th) H

Seriously, I can see us winning AT LEAST 8 points from those fixtures; probably 10 and quite possibly 12.

Might need to as, apart from playing Wycombe, Leyton Orient have a pretty easy run in. They do also have to play Huddersfield but they've pretty much blown their chances already after losing to Plymouth and having sections of their fan base turn on them.

Heads on the beach? I'm hoping they drop points in at least 3 of their remaining games.

If Charlton win at Wrexham next week, we could be in for a very exciting final weekend. Wrexham in pole position but don't fancy their final 2 games.

Not rivals I know, but they could be next season, Hull drop into the bottom 3 with 1 game to go.

Said it at the time, he could have done alot better than hull. but he wanted out at the first time opportunity, which I don’t blame him for, he needed to play the slightly longer game here. Of course it would be beautiful if we go up and they come down. No fan should want to departed staff or players do well for other teams, unless they are products of our academy. That’s not how football works. Serves him right for leaving. And anyway I think hunts done a better job. Made us harder to beat certainly . Selles needs to realise you can’t play open expansive football in the lower leagues. The man is too stubborn and naive.

Absolutely agree, even if we had finished 7th or top 6 with him in charge his stock could have been higher and a better club come in.

Cardiff coming down with Hull/Derby/Stoke/Preston/Luton will make it tough for the automatics next season. One thing you can guarantee though...if it is Hull Selles won't be there.

Reckon he’ll be sacked if they go down.

Just popped on to their forum to see what they were saying

This was the latest post on their 38 page match thread

I see no game management or tactical substitutions, dreadful home form, dreadful recruitment, 24K there as well, we deserve better than this, taxi for Selles.

It’s as if I’m reading our old match day threads

Selles is deluded. Talks about us being competitive in the game but being competitive against a **** opposition team is no great achievement.
It looked like we were playing for the draw. A draw would still have put us in peril next week.
Even if we somehow manage to keep up, I’ve got no confidence in Selles doing any better next season.

This is the thing that bugs me, it made sense when he first came in and we had a run against tough opposition. But after getting some great results, we've gone to weaker opposition and had the same mentality instead of building on it and imposing our own game on teams.

We’d beat the good teams and always struggle against the lesser teams. I don’t think he’s going to many other gigs if he can’t adapt

I wonder how many people would hang around in a terrible job, where you’re not even certain you’ll get paid each month, because you might have a more impressive CV if you stick around for another year. I’m not going to blame him for moving to somewhere a bit more stable, irrespective of the footballing considerations.

A lot of people said this at the time, but also that if it went wrong at Hull his stock would fall quickly as his job here wouldn't be remembered.

Ultimately teams like Hull and Cardiff remind me of us during most of the Dai era. Managers are not said up to succeed and so they don't succeed. It's proven to be a poor decision for him, even more so if the takeover completes in the coming week.

Perhaps one of those that looks better when there’s sod all options or choices available but once there are those options can’t see the wood for the trees and gets ‘overloaded’.

Yes he did well at a club with a tiny squad and therefore unable to make many tactical or player changes week in and week out and his positivity and man management got players through for the most part but still wasn’t convinced by the time he left and certainly don’t think the club would be a result or two away from the play offs if he’d stayed. Typical Reading results for Hull these last 2 weeks; beat the better Preston then fail to capitalise and lose to the cr@ppy team. Only difference between the two is that the cr@ppy team had something to play for.

Given the chairman at Hull, really can’t see Selles surviving the summer there. Mind you, you have to say it’s what Hull deserve after the utter stupidity of sacking Rosenior because “the football wasn’t entertaining enough”!

Wonder if there’ll be fan protests against their owner.

This is utter garbage.
First of all thinking you can tell all fans what is acceptable…
And secondly why would you not want SSC, MCdermott, Doyle, Curo, Bindon, Josh Laurent, Emi Martinez and many others to go on to bigger and better things ? I take pride in players and staff going on and doing well. It reflects well on the club and is just the decent thing. Stupid hatred is too prevelant in football. It used to be the way that we would applaud ex players pre match, but give them a hard time once the game was started and the applause was genuine and the stick was pantomime.

Agreed. Good luck to them all, quite proud to think this cr@ppy little club played some part in their journeys on to whatever they go on to achieve.

By the way I’ve missed whatever it is that Emi has done to go from hero to zero, please advise.
