Royal Rother I'd say Mills' best was better than Perace's best, but overall I'd rather have the consistency and level-headedness of Pearce.

Ian Royal If Mills hadn't been a total fukwit, he'd have been easily Premier League quality. But he was and he's been trading on his potential, rather than his performance, for years now. Potential he isn't going to reach.

Ian Royal Mills was not as good as Pearce, by quite some way. As demonstrated by Mills career going nowhere very fast after he's left us and Pearce being voted PotS and playing in the top flight.

Mills was too inconsistent and rash for me. Although I have wondered this season whether he would have stepped up to the PL better than Gorkss for example. He was always someone who could raise his game for the big matches (apart from the playoff final) and so that may have compensated for the games when he was below par.
Was the captaincy a hindrance to his game though?

He did step up for the Play off final, it was Griffin, Zurab and to a lesser extent Harte who surprisingly crumbled.
Always rated him, his performance against Leicester (The one where Cummings played Left Back) sums him up for me. Great header at one end and then throwing himself behind everything at the other. I'd have him back in a heartbeat but it probably isn't the best thing for anyone.

Colin Cheeselog I cannot emphasise what an utter, utter cúnt Mills is. He's also a very average championship player, who somehow developed a profile way beyond his ability.
Pearce, I believe, is capable of player for many prem teams. Good enough for the likes of West Ham, Southampton, Villa etc.

This statement is absolute nonsense.

I think most of it is demonstrably true.
Mills was just an older version of Morrison. But then players like Mills and Morrison always get the plaudits ahead of better defenders like Ívar and Pearce.

Ian Royal Player A wasn't good here and hasn't been good elsewhere. Player B was better here and when given the opportunity to play has proved it.

You've got Player A and B muddled up, unless you've had a change of heart.
