Karacan & Guthrie really need to pull their f*cking fingers out and actually give ledge some help.

He gets all the bad press, but gets no help at all

Royal Monk Commentator on the live feed just said we haven't put 3 passes together this half ..... We are shit

which goes to show that commentators talk absolute bollocks, as if we didn't know!

There was a phase of play where we passed it around the midifeld, back round our back four then to the front again and we made a half chance out of it.

This is still one of the most one-sided games ever though.....

Royal Ginger Ledge is getting involved. Yes he's lucky to be on the pitch, but what have Karacan or Guthrie done? Can't remember them touching the ball. Ledge is absorbing all of the pressure.

Leigertwood is absorbing no pressure at all. He and Karacan are the spine of this set up. They need to be options for the defence, they need to be about energy and movement when Arsenal have the ball, picking up runners, making tackles. But they are doing neither.

Three or four times in the last 10 minutes of that half, we had the ball around halfway, and ended up passing it back to Taylor for a welly up field. With two defensive midfielders we shouldn't have to do that, but they weren't in the picture.

Equally when Arsenal have the ball, Arteta and Cazorla have all the space in the world, Karacan and Legs should be snappy at their heels, but instead they are sitting on a line 10 yards outside the box waiting for them.

When Guthrie has got the ball he's generally done something with it, albeit a couple of sloppy passes. He hasn't been involved as he might be if we actually had the ball in attack, but he's been given an attacking role and so his impact has been minimal. What he is doing however is covering the grass, something his midfield partners need to do more.

Played decently for 5 mins, conceded and then went to absolute shit.
The paper thin confidence of many of our players really is pathetic. So you conceded a goal and are now unable to make a 5 yard pass because your so distraught, get a oxf*rd grip and man up.

akranes If this was McD..

Guthrie would be off at HT.

No, he wouldn't have even have been on the team bus.

Got to say it's men against boys at the moment. Arsenal could alrwady be out of sight not for bad finishing.

Always going to be hard at Arsenal, but Karacan and Ledge not coping well at the moment.

As I posted - Akpan for Leigertwood, and move Guthrie into that playmaker role. It's not ideal for him, but I'd sooner him providing options for a pass than wasting away in the centre circle.

I'd also bring McCleary on for McAnuff, from the perspective of us getting a goal.

Our midfield is without question the single biggest factor in our relegation. Big surgery needed in the summer I feel.

He has a job to do. Karacan and Guthrie have theirs. Playing a midfield three isn't playing three tackling defensive midfielders.

Yep, everytime he wins the ball he has no one to give it to.

Arsenal are playing so high up the pitch that there needs to be a pass available immediately as Leigertwood is under so much pressure from the first touch. Although, it doesn't help that he also seems to have forgotten how to control the ball when it is passed to him.

We looked ok till they scored.

Ledge is having a shocker, possibly his worst game this season, and thats saying something.

We need to push higher up the pitch, get in the Arsenal players faces a bit, its too easy for them.
