Don't want to piss on your bonfires m8s, but didn't Gylfi sign an extension to his contract and then get sold.....

I don't agree that Jobi is one of our most influential players either - he has good games and bad games, he's inconsistent. If he stays, I'll be happy enough - but signing an extension just means that if anyone is sniffing around him he'll cost them more now.

Think you are being a bit pessimistic because it is very unlikely that he would want to go now - or that we would sell. The good news is that it puts the club in control. With one year left on his contract we would have been lucky to get 1.5M but with 3 years we can set the price at 4M+. If a team are desperate enough to pay that and he wants to go then good luck to him.

Not gonna lie, I would much rather be happy if this was Kebe.

No way would we get £4 million plus for Jobi.

Yep cos that £4m+ will help plug the black hole. Meanwhile, we'll be back to playing has-beens and academy players. Or something.

News on Kebe has been very quiet - not really linked in the press with any other clubs - which is fantastic if we can hang on to him. Build the team around him I say.

Meh, its just what we need on a day like today, getting one of our experienced players, a leader on and off the pitch, tied to a new contract that will probably keep him at the club for the rest of his career.

Kebe is a luxury, getting players like McAnuff, Ledge, HRK and, if at all possible, Long onto new contracts needed to be our priority.

Definitely not. Not for a winger who'll be 30 this year. No value at all in buying someone of his age for that amount of cash.

Club announce McAnuff staying on the day Mills is off

Club announce Kebe is staying the day they announce Long is off.

Bad news/good news softens the blow.

Not saying we would if you read my post. I was saying we can set the bar high as we don't need to sell him unless we get a silly offer.

TBH I couldn't see McAnuff leaving before this and I can't see him leaving after it.

He's 30 and I think looking to play out the last few years of his career at a stable club he likes and see if he can get that chance in the Prem with us, who he'd actually play with. He's obviously a smart bloke with his head screwed on properly.

He's worth far more to us than to anyone else as well so I agree with Andrew. We could easily set a big price like we've done with Mills. But because he's older and not as overhyped, and he's an attacker who doesn't have a great scoring record, no one'll pay it.

How is Mills overhyped when everyone on here hates him?

If Kebe goes, then it's HRK and Jobi, with the new Irish kid pushing and Antonio still not quite cutting it?

I wouldn't be surprised snowball. Although just as possible is we keep Kebe. Or we sign the Irish lad anyway and replace Antonio with him who is slowly farmed out Mooney style and then bring in a more established player to replace Kebe when he goes.

Totally non-plussed by HRK getting a new contract.
Very pleased with Jobi signing a new contract.
Because of the money we will get I'm neutral about Mills going.
After a very quiet spell this has been quite an up-and-down week.
