Where are all these big offers for Feds that his agent was waffling on about? There's a few top flight clubs looking for a keeper and none linked to Feds. I think we'll be stuck with him next season and think McDermott will stick with him in goal. :|

Z175 what did he say?

He basically said he needs to be playing top flight football now as he wants to be the Aussie No1. He came across as implying Reading is merely a stepping stone for him and also said other top players at the club would move on if they could.

I mean - he wasn't saying anything that isn't true to be honest, but it's hardly a moral booster for the club, or showing the club and fans respect. If he stays, he hasn't done his popularity any good.

He needs to improve a hell of a lot before he's good enough to play at that level week in week out first.

The biggest question from this and countless other threads over recent weeks is : "Is there anyone who knows the difference between moral/morale - or who knows how to spell the latter properly?"

Not at all - so much goes through on here unremarked upon, but the morale/moral confusion seems to be absolutely everywhere over the past week or so, and so worth a comment.....

He ... also said other top players at the club would move on if they could.

I don't recall him saying that at all.

He said RFC is "a well run club" and that if the right offers came in for players the club wouldn't stand in their way, so there may be some others leaving this summer.

Why do people think that those with a career in football should behave differently to those with a career in anything else?

So he has ambition to fulfil his potential, play for a larger club and earn more money. Does anyone think he should not be thinking those things? And who gives a **** if he is open about wanting those things? rather someone with ambition than someone happy to sit at their current level wanting never to improve themselves

It's pretty simple really - Your choice of words "top players would move on if they could" deliberately suggests players are being kept here against their will; one of your normal half-arsed attempts to undermine the club.

Q. Why am I bothering?

A. No idea really.

Sorry to disagree, RR, but I was fairly disappointed with the Federici interview.

What he says about himself is fair enough but the overall import
of his interview was that at least 2 or 3 more players would probably
go, and that it was down to reading be a selling club.

It was very poor in terms of team-spirit or club morale.

However, IF the overall plan is to sell "replaceable" players for a decent profit
and hang on to Shane Long and Jimmy until January at least, I would be very
happy. I would love to see what this team could do starting the season with an
established pattern of play, wingers and strikers in form, a solid break-it-down
midfield, decent keeper (McCarthy) and a solid back-four (we need a CB).

A good start and I think we could have a fantastic season.

Question is, do we get the good start?

If Long and/or Kebe goes it's bound to hit morale and we have to bed in someone new,
so probably back to something like 13-14 points from the first ten games, then...

I think that pretty much hits the spot Snowball.

It's not the ambition that Federici has, or his or any other players desire to better themselves given the opportunity, it's the public way in which he's stating it and the implication that the club won't be able to match him, or certain other players, for progress.

Classy from Federici isn't it, a public 'come and get me plea'. Almost as classy as his constant refusal to acknowledge the many blunders he has made over the last 2 or 3 seasons. Get rid and plug that defecit; that gaping, pourous defecit.
